What would happen?

I have seen a lot of people post on here purely for engagement, likes and followers. Is that actually necessary to get legitimate feedback on a release, or am I just feeding the algorithm what it wants?

The psychology of second launches - anyone else terrified? 😅

Hey PH community!

Random thought while I'm overthinking everything: second launches hit different than first ones.

🤔 Why hasn’t smart home tech gone mainstream?

We ve got devices that talk to each other, lights that respond to voice, and thermostats that learn your habits

So why does the smart home still feel like it hasn t clicked for most people?

We ve spent the last year building in this space, and this question keeps coming up, especially outside of early adopter circles.

Quick behind-the-scenes story since we just launched today.

My content pipeline runs on n8n + Claude, fully automated. A few weeks ago I discovered it had been silently publishing near-duplicate versions of the same article for 25 straight days no errors, no alerts, everything looked successful in the logs.

Root cause: the automation checked for the literal text published in a spreadsheet cell instead of reading the actual row state, so every article looked unpublished to it forever. Fixed it with a real similarity check before anything goes live now.

The thing that stuck with me: automation failures like this don t look like failures. Everything succeeds, logs are green, and you only notice if you actually look at the output.

Curious if others building with automation/AI pipelines have run into the same kind of technically working but silently wrong failure.

Does launch timing work differently for leisure products?

Most launch advice favors weekdays because traffic and visibility are higher, but our product belongs more naturally to people s leisure time. We thought users might be more willing to engage during the weekend, even if the overall reach is lower.

For anyone who has launched an entertainment, reading, gaming, or creative product: did you find that higher user intent could compensate for lower weekend traffic?

How do you want to find job when AI is replacing people? [Real case on the horizon]

3 weeks ago, we discussed the topic of how AI affects your work.

After seeing yesterday s Instagram post by Morning Brew, I ve decided to change the questions.

According to the post, even a major player like Duolingo is looking to replace contractors and employees with AI.

Missing the cozy vibes in PH discussions — anyone else?

Don't you think Product Hunt discussions have become as cold as ice lately?
Or maybe I just don t get which topics work best for my discussion themes?
Last summer/autumn, discussions seemed to get more replies and upvotes people felt more cozy and engaged back then in comments.

B2C AI Adoption: Is advertising AI features a Plus or a Minus for Growth?

I'm seeing a growing trend of B2C products actively advertising their AI features as a USP, claiming AI being the prime solution.

However, being back in my hometown for a weekend, I've heard a lot of apprehension around data privacy and a general lack of understanding "what happens in that blackbox". Nothing I hear very often back in Berlin, so demographic differences are clearly playing a big role in user receptiveness.

Transparency is crucial, no doubt. Advertising AI on platforms like producthunt or in decks for investors makes a lot of sense - that's the right audience.
But are we far enough along the AI adoption curve for "AI-powered" to be a major selling point on the customer-facing side? Or are we scaring off potential users with concerns about data usage and complexity?
Let's discuss!

  • Have you seen AI transparency hurt or help your user acquisition efforts?

  • How are you addressing user concerns about AI?
