What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

This could be related to your industry, or even a side project you're working on.

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

my 5:

  1. — half my commits at this point, honestly more co-founder than tool

  2. — backend + realtime sync without ever writing a sync engine

  3. — every product demo and social clip I ship for Reline;

  4. — quick research, second opinions, and image gen when I need one in ten seconds

  5. Reline () — meeting notes without a bot joining the call, and it separates speakers so the transcript actually makes sense afterwards. disclosure: this one's mine 😊.

seeing meeting note apps in so many lists here is honestly validating — "notes that write themselves" is finally a category people get

ChatGPT, Canva, Notion, Google sheets and Loom. If any of those disappear for a week, my workflow gets a lot slower

 using calculator, I already forgot to count manually on my own :D

I mostly work on the backend, so good old IntelliJ, along with some AI plugins, does the heavy lifting (and structures my code just the way I like it—it almost looks like a poem! :)). I also use Docker to keep my local environment clean, Postman for API testing, and Google Calendar integrated with my app to track real-world deployment deadlines.

 Actually, I've noticed something interesting—my Copilot has started 'learning' my preferred style through observation! At first, I was constantly tweaking its suggestions, but now it seems to have internalized my formatting habits. It's reached a point where it structures the code almost exactly how I like it on the first try. It’s a great feeling when the AI starts to feel like a pair-programmer who finally 'gets' your style.

That said, I still rely on tools like Spotless or Checkstyle to enforce those rules formally in the build process. It’s the perfect balance for me: AI handles the 'poetry' of the structure while Spotless acts as the final gatekeeper to ensure consistency across the whole project.

Have any of you noticed your Copilot getting 'smarter' about your personal style as you work on the same project?

 To be honest, I don't use copilot, but Claude.

  • Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini - research and code review.

  • Lovable and - for prototyping and design.

  • Google Calendar and Google Tasks - for organization and scheduling.

 I think that in most of cases, we use the same (almost) :)

Great list! My 5: Claude for thinking and drafting, Linear for tracking work, Notion for docs, Slack for keeping the team in sync, and Figma for quick mockups. Hard to imagine a workday without any of them.

 I need to have a look at Linear, because more people started referring to it.
