Hi PH! I'm Dina. My competitor is worth $1.5B. My funding: $0. Talk me out of it (or into it)

Hey everyone, Dina here.

I'm building Reline, a notes app with meeting capture built in. The corner of software I picked might be the most overfunded one that exists right now: the best-known competitor just raised at a $1.5B valuation and several others are sitting on nine figures.

Me: zero VC money. Not as a flex, honestly some weeks it just feels like a slower way to suffer.

But here's my actual theory. When your burn is millions a month you have to sell enterprise seats, so every funded player converges on the same product: a bot joins the call, dumps a transcript into yet another inbox, sales team follows up with your boss. Being broke means I get to build for the actual person in the meeting instead. No bot sitting in the participant list, real speaker separation, notes that live in an actual notes app.

Am I the only one who finds it awkward when an AI notetaker bot joins the call as a "participant"?

Last week I was on a first call with a potential client. Three people joined: me, her, and AI Bot.

She didn't mention it. I didn't ask. But I noticed I started talking differently. More careful, more filtered, like everything was on the record. Because it was.

I asked a few founder friends and got completely opposite reactions:

Half of them said "who cares, notes are notes, I have one in every meeting"
