Does design matter to developers? In my opinion, yes. Take Stripe, Linear, and Resend for example. Both dev-first products made craftsmanship a first principle.

I switched from Google Analytics to PostHog and added product analytics sent from our desktop app, MultiDrive. I've enjoyed PostHog for more than half a year and how they've improved their system.

I would include Tauri and Raycast in the list. They both feel very well-built and polished. It's incredible how much attention to detail is being paid to development tools these days.

Linear and Stripe are obvious picks, but the part I admire is not only the UI.

It is the lack of friction when something goes wrong.

Good error states, sane defaults, and clear upgrade paths feel like craftsmanship too.
