What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

 I would swap spotify for YT music, but we are pretty accurate with a good music :)

Here are the ones I actually can't live without:

1. Claude Code - This is where everything starts. My whole workflow spins out from here.

2. Figma - Straight from Claude Code I spin up design systems, FigJams, whatever it takes to actually collaborate with marketing and dev.

3. Notion - Obsessed. Prioritize sprints, build roadmaps that anyone can read, and back it all with databases. Best collaborative tool out there.

4. - My secret weapon for interactive screenshots. I drop clients right inside the app so they get it instantly, plus killer GIFs and ready-to-ship product updates in minutes with proper usecases.

5. Granola - Never losing a conversation again. Clients, team brainstorms, weeklies, dailies, it's all captured.

Mine, as someone who ships products for a living:

  1. Cursor - where the work actually happens. Agents + full codebase context beat bouncing between chat tabs and an IDE.

  2. Claude / ChatGPT - the thinking layer. Brainstorming, ripping apart bad ideas, and rewriting copy until it stops sounding like a pitch deck.

  3. Google Sheets - boring and undefeated. Launch tracking, pricing experiments, outreach lists, random metrics. Notion looks nicer; Sheets gets opened.

  4. (built it) - my SaaS boilerplate. Auth, Stripe, security. Every new product starts here so I’m not rebuilding the same scaffolding from scratch.

  5. (also mine) - keeps shipping cadence visible when everything else is chaos. Simple accountability, hard to fake.

Honorable mention: for blind feature ranking before I write a single line of code. Saved me from more than one overbuilt MVP.

2. Perplexity - for deep research and learning

My 5 would be:
1. iTerm + oh my zsh - Most of my work is done here. For layout I'm using fino-time mainly.
2. Supabase - Tbh I've been thinking about self hosting, but it's such a cheap and well maintained product that I've kept posting the migration for our team for a year already.
3. Claude - For obvious reasons. The new design tool is very powerful, just like Fable.
4. Telegram - Most comms in and out of the team are in here.
5. Google docs - Perfect environment for collaborative docs.

Probably 90% of my time is spent on these 5 tools.

 Why did you decide for Claude over ChatGPT? :)

 I was using ChatGPT earlier, but Claude's performance was just clearly better with Opus 4.8. Switched and haven't looked back since.

Nowadays, I see Kimi 3 being a worthy competitor with about 40% cheaper tokens. So might switch to that in the future.
