Building CitedSpy | AI Search Engine

About

Hi, I'm Arshita Sharma, founder of CitedSpy. For over 10 years, I've worked across business development, growth, and digital marketing, helping companies get discovered and grow. Over the last few years, I noticed a major shift: buyers stopped relying only on Google and started asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI assistants for recommendations. The problem was simple: brands had no way to see what AI was saying about them. Excited to share CitedSpy with the Product Hunt community and learn from your feedback.

We said "No" to every shortcut on Product Hunt. I'd do it again

During our Product Hunt launch, we received offers for:

Paid upvotes
Engagement pods
"500k+ audience promotion"

We declined every one of them.

Not because they don't work.

How do you collect good reviews for a new product so you can use them as social proof later?

One of the most effective and affordable marketing strategies is WOM (word of mouth) getting other people to share your product and potentially spark curiosity or create a domino effect.

Over the past few days, several people:

have shared screenshots of my tool on social media,
sent me DMs saying they like it, or
left reviews on the Chrome Web Store.
I plan to use them in:
the landing page
 marketing materials (Chrome Web Store)
possibly advertisement and "show off on socials"

Building CitedSpy to help brands win in AI search – what should we measure?

Over the last few months I ve been interviewing founders and marketers who are worried their brand is invisible inside AI tools, even though they ve invested heavily in content and SEO.

With CitedSpy, our goal is to track:
Where your brand is cited or recommended in AI answers.
The gaps vs. your closest competitors.
Concrete actions you can take to improve that visibility.

I d love to turn this into a mini AMA / feedback thread:
If you could ask one question about your brand s performance in AI search today, what would it be?

"Happy to share what we re learning from early experiments and research as replies if that s useful."
