What are your favorite platforms for stock trading?

I'm looking for alternative online platforms to trade stocks: - Great UI - Fair brokerage cost - Real time prices - Etc.

Robinhood for iOS

$0 commission stock brokerage

If you plan on doing very basic order types (buy/sell, limits/stops), then Robinhood is a pretty good solution. The UI is great, it's easy to lookup stocks on the go, and it has general references (news) for each stock on your watchlist. Best of all, it's commission free. Just note, it's very basic - you can't create multiple watchlists, do complex order types (options, shorts, etc) and see more than the rudimentary stock information (no ratings, complex ratios, MACD, etc), set alerts, etc.

Would also highly recommend Robinhood. Definitely agree that for more in depth research, you have to leave the app... but in terms of tracking and making buys/sells it's rock solid and I love the design.

India specific platform. They move 5% of total volume on national exchange BSE. Simple product, great UX, flat fees model. Oh! the company is bootstrapped and raking it in profits.

Stop picking stocks. Invest in Ideas.

I use Motif to do this when I want to set my own strategy/not used automated investment platforms or ETFs. It has fair pricing, and if you trade with a theme (or "Motif"), you can bundle up to 30 equities in one trade. Super low commissions if you do their monthly subscription or per-trade pricing. I love Motif for these reasons, in addition to a fairly good interface.
