Hey Product Hunters! 👋 I’m Aleksander, the creator of Simple Commenter. For five years, I worked as a web specialist at Johnson & Johnson. During that time, I consistently encountered the same challenge: gathering clear feedback from brand teams proved surprisingly difficult. We relied on PDFs, endless email threads, and meetings that often created more confusion than clarity. It slowed projects, caused miscommunications, and even created compliance risks. One day, while riding my motorcycle, the idea struck me: What if leaving comments on a live site instead of scribbling on a PDF—but without all the extra steps? That’s how Simple Commenter was born. 👉 Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Add a tiny script to your site—it only takes a minute. 2️⃣ Your clients (even the non-technical ones) can simply click and leave precise, contextual comments right on your live website. 3️⃣ You can review feedback directly on the site OR manage everything in the dashboard. 4️⃣ Notifications make sure you never miss a new comment, reply, or resolution. 5️⃣ Want to streamline it further? Integrate feedback into tools like Trello, Slack, and Jira. You can test out the tool on the www.simplecommenter.com website. We also have an active Discord community, where you can request features, report bugs, and even help shape the future of the tool together with us. It’s where many of our best ideas originate. https://discord.gg/HN8Eht7mbu Thank you so much for giving Simple Commenter a try 🙏 — Aleksander (creator of Simple Commenter)

I think that my friends I connected with here on PH and later met on Websummit in Lisbon created something like that. Since then, I haven't seen tools like that so much. I like how you implemented it directly for use on your website! :)

@busmark_w_nika Nice to hear that—it's not a new idea indeed, and I've since discovered there are quite a few similar tools out there. I built this to solve a specific problem of mine, with key priorities like no browser extensions, no external sites, and making it super easy for non-tech clients to use.

Implementing the tool directly on my website has been fantastic, actually. People have left really useful feedback and even pointed out typos—it's been super helpful! :)

Nika

@aleksander_kaaberma TBH, I didn't pay attention to typos :D But good to know that they are too focused on them :D

Aleksander Kaaberma

@busmark_w_nika :D Indeed, for some, it's a real turnoff

Amazing tool. I have used quite a few similar ones, but all of them missed the mark for me (e.g. too many bugs, missing features or simply too complex for my use case).

I was so happy to discover Simple Commenter; it ticks all the boxes for me and has become my go-to tool for collecting client feedback on my website projects. It's easy to set up, easy to use, no frills, plus the dev is clearly passionate about his product. Highly recommended!

@niko_1 Nice to see you here Niko! You were one of the first users, and I'm glad that you have stuck around. Appreciate it :)

Congrats on the launch! This interactive, instant customer feedback tool is a game changer! Product managers and developers can better understand the specific needs of customers.

@wayne_appgrowing Thanks so much! I'm thrilled to hear you think this interactive, instant customer feedback tool is a game-changer—it really helps product managers and developers better understand specific customer needs. Your congrats means a lot!

Getting website edits from clients can often be time-consuming and awkward, for both my clients and me. Simple Commenter completely removes that friction. It’s easy to use, and, as one client said, the process can even be fun!

The platform is incredibly flexible. Clients can make edits to text and brand assets directly on the website before launch, which is a total game-changer — goodbye to endless Google Docs and emails! The dashboard is also a lifesaver: I can see at a glance what edits need doing, and once completed, I just click “resolve.”

On top of all that, Ander, the owner, is incredibly helpful. Simple Commenter solves what is often a fiddly stage of web design, all at a fair price. For me, it’s a total win all around. Thanks, Ander!

@jane_hinchliffe Thanks Jane! :)

This addresses a universal pain point. The back-and-forth over email and PDF markups is incredibly inefficient. Giving clients a one-click way to leave comments directly on the live site is such a logical solution. It removes the ambiguity of trying to describe where an issue is. The script installation seems straightforward enough. Well done.

@alexis_rodriguez12 Thanks, not sure if you're a real person though :D PH and Linkedin photos don't quite match

I purchased Simple Commenter in its early stages, and I’m truly impressed with how far it has come. It makes gathering customer feedback effortless and eliminates the need for long back-and-forth emails. Customers can easily highlight the areas that need fixing, and I can address them right away. No delays, no missed emails just smooth communication. I highly recommend this tool.

Aleksander Kaaberma

@akram203 I am so glad you like it :)

💡 Bright idea

Simple, lightweight, and effective. Just hope the permission documentation could be clearer.

Aleksander Kaaberma

@adamslin Thanks for the feedback. The documentation needs to be improved slightly, and even better, a more streamlined onboarding flow that clearly describes these functionalities.

We have implemented numerous new features lately, which have made the documentation difficult to keep up with.

Andrew Jameson

Good idea! getting user feedback quickly has always been important, but many people ignore the large number of new users on their official website.
