I think that @kosvke maybe considered a maker, but I'll let him chime in on that one.

Looks like a bunch of drones strapped to the bottom of a recreational vehicle. Cool prototype, but still a (very big) toy.

Now THIS would make quadcopter racing interesting . I'm imagining those bad guys from "The Incredibles", but on these, around a Red Bull Air Race'ish type track.

I suppose that flying cars would solve San Francisco's traffic problem in that there'd be no one left to drive after the first week or so

Umm. This is not a "car". This is just a mini-helicopter. Or a giant drone. Even if you put wheels on it, it'd be more of a flying motorcycle than a car. As a mech eng I felt obligated to point this out.

Very nice indeed. This is the second such product I see after Malloy Hoverbike (http://www.hover-bike.com) and it seems at a more advanced stage. Kudos!

At first when I saw this, I thought it was in reference to an iOS app I use for UAV/drones called KittyHawk. But then I realized it was SO MUCH MORE. Pretty wild endeavor.

I think the day we really have flying cars is when Tesla, even GM or Ford, say "hey, let's get in on this drones for people thing."
