What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

This could be related to your industry, or even a side project you're working on.

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

What are your five?

These are mine:

  1. Claude/Gemini - support in my test management job and review of documents

  2. Obsydian - My second brain together with Claude

  3. Visual Studio - For my vibe coding and also for Claude sessions beyond coding

  4. - Project management for keeping track of my test management tasks and private projects

  5. Bambu Studio - For slicing all my 3D print jobs

3 of them I know, two rest I need to check :)

My son and i build #4, and I have grown quite fond of it. Its like taking your own medicine :-).

I would love if you would check it out :-)

Is it something like Trello? :)

Well it started out as an alternative to Trello, but along came integrations to Github, GitLab, Addo Sign. Then came agentic framework, with agents spinning up to handle issues, but still with a human in the loop. There is also knowledge sharing and a training module. One of our customers uses the training module in their HR dept. for onboarding new employees.

Paste a clipboard is also SO underrated! It’s so good, that I forgot to mention it.. I take it for granted at this point.

Raycast is another one worth a mention.

I often overlook these solutions but they are kinda big :D

you can only have one hunter right? There’s no point in trying to find more? Right?

 There is nothing like co-hunting.

really? How does that work? 🤓

Love this thread! it really shows how different workflows depend on a unique mix of tools.

For me, the essentials are ClickUp for task management, Figma for design collaboration, Notion for documentation, Slack for team communication, and Google Workspace for everything from email to sheets.

Without these, my day-to-day would feel scattered.

Juuu, I know all of them :) And gladly using 4 of them :)

  • Raycast

  • Slack

  • Linear

  • Claude

  • Tella

 Team Slack and Claude :)

Interesting you put still old email in this list. The answer varies, obviously, based on the kind of work. For me, chatbots are my obsession. Further from being tools that vanquish human intellect, they are tools that excite knowledge, focus and creativity.

mine skew boring: claude code for basically everything now, linear so i stop holding tasks in my head, and plausible because i couldnt stomach another GA dashboard. the non-obvious one is a plain text file i dump every half-formed idea into, no app, just one file ive had open for two years. the translator point hits btw, half the best builders i talk to are working in their second language and nobody mentions how much overhead that quietly adds. whats the one tool youd be gutted to lose if it vanished tomorrow?

After 20+ years in podcasting my non-negotiables:

  1. Shure MV7 microphone for great sound

  2. GarageBand for editing

  3. Squarespace for podcast hosting

  4. Traktor controller for my DJ'ing

  5. AI for building my product here on PH

Wow, Do you DJ? :D What about VJ-ing? :D

I do! 🎧 I've been curating + producing for The Groove Radio, the first mixtape podcast, since 2005. No VJ-ing yet, but now you've got me thinking... 😄

It is time to pick a new hobby! :D

ChatGPT - all things discussion Scriptos.ai - marketing, digital creation, personal brand officer Canva - shirt and poster designs Claude - vibe coding Codex - vibe coding

Why did you decide on Claude over ChatGPT? :)

  1. -- search, translate, and AI assistant

  2. Amp & Claude Code

  3. Discord

 Thank you for sharing :)
