The health implications this will bring along will be vast... wired or your being slowly wirelessly fried.

Very cool! How far away can the device be to still change?
Nadia Niky
@tylerswartz Hey Tyler! Thanks for your question. The range of the device is a 1ft spherical radius.

I am curious what Apple, Google, Samsung don't know and Pi knows better?

@dainiskanopa They've emphasized a breakthrough on their website. I'm a EE by training but that was a long time ago. I could be wrong but it looks like run of the mill engineering to me. We've seen lots of companies try to tackle this problem over the last few years. They all suffer from various problems, the biggest being charge rates I think. The orientation is a nice problem to solve but not a game changer IMO. Pads tend to be less intrusive than appliances too. My new car will have a charging pad.

Very interesting product - nice work. Will it be possible to extend the range in future versions of the hardware?
Nadia Niky
@jpridgely Hey Justin! Thanks for your comment. Extending the range would be possible with changes to the current form factor.
