We've been anticipating today for 2+ years now and it's surreal to finally open up Maven to the world. This is a HUGE step towards our vision for building the university of the future 🏛️ The quality of courses already on the platform is second to none, and I'm so excited to welcome a whole new wave of instructors to Maven!

Hey Product Hunt fam 👋 Maven is one of the very few startups which has the utmost belief in empowering creators and building tools that they can use seamlessly. It's been inspiring watching them build and grow. Creating a course is a daunting task but Maven Course Builder makes it super easy for creators to turn their expertise into a course. All that for free. Try it and let Gagan, Wes, Shreyans, and the rest of the team know your feedback. They are here to answer any questions. Drop your comments below 👇

After two years in private beta, I am thrilled to share Maven’s course builder to the Product Hunt community. In 2009 when I cofounded Udemy, the original vision was a marketplace for live online classes and a Zoom-like product that was ahead of its time. But, it couldn’t get any traction. So, we pivoted to video-based courses and it took off. There's been almost no innovation since then. Video-based courses are hard to create. What do you do if you don’t want to set up a video studio? What do you do if you want to teach live and interact with students? Maven takes the next step forward. Taking inspiration from my co-founder Wes Kao’s altMBA, and many other online learning programs, we've introduced Cohort-Based Courses (CBCs). CBCs are powerful because instructors are LIVE with their students. Once you’ve experienced the rush of teaching live, you’ll be hooked. Plus, students absolutely love them. Maven courses have a 75-90% completion rate and a 9.1/10 average star rating. Maven is the easiest way to start teaching online. Many of our top instructors earn $150k+ a year from teaching on Maven, replacing their full-time incomes. Before Maven, instructors teaching live courses were jury-rigging Zoom, Slack, Google apps, Squarespace, Zapier, Mailchimp to make it work. With Maven, you can spin up a new course with 1 tool that includes email marketing, landing page, Zoom integrations, lead gen, content & community. Plus, we handle a lot of the admin for you like pre-written email campaigns, sending calendar invites, recording/uploading Zooms so you can relax and focus on teaching. The #1 reason instructors choose Maven is because we help you get discovered by students who want to take your course. • Maven is the #1 destination for live learning • 15,000 students have taken courses • ~30% of enrollments are attributed to the Maven marketplace I know some of you will love this immediately and others will be skeptical of a new format. My co-founders and I will be here all day to answer questions and engage. Please feel free to ask away!

Hey Product Hunt community! Today marks the day… Now anyone can use Maven’s course builder tool to easily build your own live, cohort-based course. No application, no invite needed, no gate keeping. This the result of HUNDREDS of hours of engineering work over the past two years. For someone like me who isn’t super technical and gets easily frustrated with tech, this is huge. This is night-and-day from the slog I experienced for years building courses manually. Before starting Maven, I created one of the first cohort-based courses with Seth Godin in 2014/2015. Then I worked with a bunch of early adopters to help build and grow their courses: David Perell, Tiago Forte, Section4/Professor Galloway, Morning Brew, and more. On the surface, it looked great. Live sessions! Community! Hands-on projects and real-time feedback! Behind-the-scenes, it was chaotic. We were stitching together multiple third-party tools to handle the moving parts. It was unwieldy, expensive, and stole time that could have been spent making the student experience magical. I couldn’t believe that there wasn’t a tool that could be a central place for all my course creation needs. So we decided to build one. It took two years because, well, great software takes time. As of today, with Maven, you can spin up a new course with one tool that includes everything you need in one place: email marketing, landing page, Zoom integrations, lead generation, content, and community. This means one thing: It opens up access for a larger number and wider range of deserving experts to teach online. Even if you’re not technical. Even if you don’t have a big team. Even if you’re new to this and aren’t sure where to start. If you’ve ever had an itch to share your knowledge online, I’d love for you to take a look at maven.com/start. It’s free to get started. And I know you’ll love how intuitive the tool is. Try it and let me know what you think.

Mubeen Masudi
Have been a big fan and supporter of Maven from the sidelines! Maven's course builder has always been topnotch for launching CBCs. While there are many platforms out there to launch a recorded course, Maven is probably the easiest to use yet most comprehensive tool to launch and run an effective live course.
Gagan Biyani
@mubeen Wooohoo - thanks Mubeen; we agree :)
Wes Kao
@mubeen "Easiest to use yet more comprehensive tool out there to launch and run an effective live course." This means a lot and is exactly what we were hoping to build, Mubeen. Thanks for being here.
Runqiu (Rachel) Cai
@mubeen Thank you Mubeen! We appreciate your support :)
Ridd
@mubeen Thanks for the support Mubeen!

The number of times over the last two years we've excitedly wondered when we'd launch 'self-serve'...it's a lot. I'm amazed it's finally happened, and thrilled to see the wonderful and surprising courses that you all will create. Topics we never imagined, niches we'd never explored, passionate experts teaching for the first time and bringing together eager students from all over the world - there's going to be a lot more of this, and we're excited to help make it happen.
