wow awesome! How do you monetize it? Do you take commission or do you charge the Course-maker on a monthly basis?
Runqiu (Rachel) Cai
@hannes_ri Hey Hannes, great question - when you start earning money on Maven, you keep 90% minus Stripe fees and we earn 10%. This allows us to invest further in our product, education, and growing our marketplace to drive more students to you.
Hannes Richter
@runqiu Thanks for the quick answer! I am currently planning to create a course and wanted to do it on Udemy but I think I have to reconsider my decision
Runqiu (Rachel) Cai
@hannes_ri Of course—we also offer a free 3-week cohort-based course on how to build a cohort-based course. It's really good (and I'm not just saying that because I teach in it). If you have any questions, feel free to DM me on Twitter https://twitter.com/edurqc

Huge milestone! Teaching a live course is hard, and I'm so proud of all that our team has built to make it a lot easier. I'm especially excited for this launch to encourage more experts to consider teaching. We know students are hungry to learn in this format. Can't wait to see the courses that emerge!
Chelsea Wilson
@rishbank Yes, Rishin! We have so many eager students who are getting the chance to learn from amazing experts! Thankful to have you on the team helping us build this!
Madeleine Barr
@rishbank We couldn't have done it without your constant distillation of a million and one ideas into a cohesive product roadmap 🙏

ongrats on the launch, Maven! 🎉 I'm so excited to try out the Cohort-Based Courses. Could you share more about the tools you use for lead gen? I'm sure it would help many more instructors get discovered by their students. 🤩 Looking forward to hearing more about your product!
Runqiu (Rachel) Cai
@paolo_degiglio Hey Paolo, in the Maven platform, we offer a number of marketing features for lead gen. Here are three that stand out 👇 1. Easily survey your audience and gather leads before you build. One of the hardest parts of building an online course is knowing whether anyone would actually take this course from you. The Course Interest Survey allows you to spin up a survey (for free) and share it with your audience/community. Prospective students who fill out your survey automatically join your waitlist. 2. Automate waitlist campaigns. without Maven, you'd have to stitch together email tools, Zapier, Typeform to build a waitlist campaign. With Maven, we built it for you with default copy! You can reach out to folks who fill out your survey to chat 1:1, join a webinar, or just share your insights and knowledge. The email campaigns are all included within the Maven platform. 3. Maven Marketplace is the biggest marketplace for live learning on the internet. Thousands of students are browsing and searching for courses each day. In fact, ~30% of enrollments are coming from the marketplace (and growing) Hope this helps!

@runqiu Oooh nice 🤩

I’m always excited to see other products in this space as I’ve been creating online courses for the past 6+ years. And I see the value in cohort and the community. Will be watching the updates closely :)

Mickey Slevin
I am so excited for this. When I first started running cohort-based courses about 5 years ago, the options for a platform were abysmal. What Maven's built in just two years blows me away. And it's just getting started!
Chelsea Wilson
@mickey_slevin +1 Mickey! And you've been amazing part of building what we have!
Madeleine Barr
@mickey_slevin We are indeed just getting started! We would not be where we are today without your electric energy ⚡️
Runqiu (Rachel) Cai
@mickey_slevin Proud to be part of this with you!
Dennis Crane
Good luck with the launch on PH. I think you could add more information on your landing page besides the registration form. However, I went to the root page and discovered a good product presentation there. Well done!
Wes Kao
@dennis_crane Thanks for the feedback Dennis. We have lots more info at maven.com/teach too. Check it out and I'd love to hear what you think.
