Donut makes it easy to automate and customize onboarding journeys for new hires and stakeholders like managers and buddies. Increase productivity, decrease ramp time, and deliver an elevated experience right in Slack.
👋Hi PH community,
Thanks for hunting us @benln! I’m Sarah, one of the cofounders of Donut. We launched Donut Pairing three years ago, and we’re super excited to be back with our newest launch: Donut for Onboarding.
After talking to countless teams ranging from 10 people to 35,000+, we heard one consistent thing: new hire onboarding is really hard, but really important. It determines everything from ramp time and long-term engagement to productivity and length of tenure.
We wanted to make it easy for anyone on the team from people ops to engineering leads to sales enablement to find and launch onboarding best practices like buddy systems, feedback collection, pre-boarding reminders to managers, and key task lists.
Here’s how it works:
● Set up your company’s onboarding journey by building a template in Donut — a series of Slack messages with interactive onboarding content like tasks, polls, or introductions.
● Automatically send onboarding content to new hires + other stakeholders anytime someone joins.
● Measure new hire progress (inc qualitative and quantitative feedback).
We’re always looking for new things to build, so we’d love to hear from you. And if you have any questions, let us know – we'll be around here all day, or reach out anytime!
P.S. if you're interested in giving it a try, you can start a free trial using this link, and we're giving all PH users half off the first month!

@benln@sarah3o6 From small companies to larger organizations this solves a huge need by simply integrating into the daily tool of slack, keeping everyone on the same page and providing new hires a clear path to navigating a new company
Amazing team and really exciting product. A must for any organization that's looking looking to create culture of collaboration and help new employees have a successful on-boarding.
@gregratner couldn't agree more! Donut is an amazing product that's always improving and a must have for our organization, too. They're a wonderful team to work with - creative, responsive and human.
Onboarding was always something that was a bit haphazard, and Donut helped us put into place a more consistent experience and make sure we weren't forgetting any important information. It made it easier to setup a longer term onboarding program (1-3 mos instead of a couple weeks) and made sure everyone got the best experience even if their manager had other things going on.
Pros:
Easy to use and setup great flows for be employees. Lots of options to send different kinds of messages or create introductions.
Cons:
Easier integration with HR systems

I've been using the Pairing feature from Donut for over a year, as a great tool for the team to get to know each other. Adding onboarding is a huge win - we were "hacking" pairing to help new team members meet people, but now we can structure such a better process.
Pros:
Really simple - and valuable to use - to use. Love the recommended flows. Great customer support.
I've been using Donut Onboarding for a little while now, and one of my favorite aspects of it is how it remains incredibly useful even after you've onboarded an employee. At Huge, we've used it as a learning & development tool to internally market our workshops and then to engage with participants after they've completed workshops with automated surveys, support materials, polls, and challenges. For a small L&D team, it's made a massive difference. It would've taken us a lot longer to do all of that by hand every time.
@andreplaut thanks Andre! We couldn't have done it without all of your feedback and support 🙏

I am remembering my days at the retail giant that is Best Buy. Onboarding there was both the best and the worst I've seen it. I wonder what a product like this could do for that process.
Pros:
Gosh I wish all jobs had this. I've never seen a real onboarding process that was consistent and useful. this seems to bridge that gap
Cons:
How can we get every company to use this?
