This actually looks really sick! I can't shake the feeling that Apple are late to the game though, but then again it's Apple, they will make their own trend.

@aaronoleary Apple does run on their own timeline. Perhaps they're late. However, Steve Jobs used to say that they will only enter a market if they can find a way to add value to it. They weren't the first portable music product (name one that survived after iPod), they weren't the first phone (name one besides Android, which doesn't seem to have a large market share despite being free), they weren't the first TV box (yep, still work to do here, but they do seem to be adding value to using an AppleTV over Roku or Google TV). They weren't the first watch (again, name another one that has any significant market share). They weren't the first tablet computer (are there any others? I think only Amazon Fire really at this point). We'll see if the value proposition works for the Vision Pro, probably not initially because of the price overall, but iteration 2 and 3 will be key. iPhone really took off with the iPhone 3G.

@mdwolinski insightsful reply thanks

@mdwolinski Good reply although Android actually has a huge market share. Especially outside the US where people don't have the opportunity to purchase an iPhone with monthly payments and income is much less. Personally, flagship Androids are as good as an iPhone. Most people in US just don't give them a chance because the Apple fanboyism is so strong.

Every video call is going to look like an afterski party 😅

@eonpilot HAHA first thing that came to mind when I saw it being announced

Likewise 😅 On another note, perhaps the use of avatars can help. Either your metaverse version, or your photorealistic version: https://youtu.be/2mnonWbzOiQ

@shrwnsan Apple is actually going to deepfake our faces. no joke. there is a press release on this

I think it’s a really great product. Though I can’t wait for the many innovations that will follow. I was actually hoping they’d introduce some kind of “shared space”, where someone having the Vision Pro can join your party. But overall it’s what we’ve all been waiting for.
Robert Raymond
@zutes I'm sure that's on the roadmap.

I would love to get this in Pakistan before its launch, cause I want to make a change from here. I am getting so many ideas in my head, just by seeing its functionality in the WWDC

I just love apple products...i want to grab it firstly in my whole friend circle anyhow 😁
Is there a way to get the headset before the official release to prepare some apps? :)
Mark Wolinski
@karpenoid I'll bet not. Haven't watched the WWDC videos yet, but I'm sure in those sessions they explain how to develop products. Perhaps closer to launch they'll have developer versions.

Apple really outdid itself this time.

This looks insane, in a good way, I’d love to try it ASAP. If a mouse and keyboard can be connected, this can at least replace any amount of screens I want to work with.

As an iOS dev, I can’t wait to use it and also create the next generation of applications on it

A bit too short battery time but it is only the first version. Looking forward to see if this can actually replace computers for software engineering purposes.
