What app do you use to write private journals?

I am looking for an app which has built-in calendar + security lock + sleek editor + clean design.

Recently, I've made the switch to NoteLedge for private journaling and I've been using it almost every day. What I like most about this app is that I can use it on all my devices, so I'm not tied down to a particular one. Also, the app lets me stay creative with lots of different pens and paper styles and I can also sketch on my tablet which adds variety to my entries. Overall, I find that I really enjoy using this app and I recommend it for all kinds of journaling.

Penzu is a great private journal keeper that allows you to edit easily, has a clean design and has a double password protection functionality.

I use Evernote for taking notes on a daily basis. It does have a sleek editor, a clean design and you can integrate it with google calendar and even Amazon Alexa (using an IFTTT). I'm not sure about the security lock aspect though, but I think you can work around that by not using an SSO and instead logging in and logging out each time you use the app.
