What's the best site to follow news you care about from different sources?

I've recently stopped using Twitter (and TweetDeck) where I had a list with all my news sources, so I'm looking for a replacement. A website which I can use to stay informed about the things I care.

I've switched from Feedly to Opera Reborn and making use 'Personal News' feature in the sidebar. One can either browse through the preset top 50 sources or set up to receive updates from defined sources. It's working pretty well.

I was able to switch from Chrome to Opera and I've been pretty happy with it. Check out this video for more on the reasons and the benefits - https://youtu.be/3BRQINbf81Q

I use Google alerts and set up alerts for certain keywords. The results are sometimes slightly inconsistent, but it mostly gets the job done pretty well.
