A workflow automation platform that routes tasks to the right agent – human or AI. By connecting tools like Slack, Jira and Notion – Trace breaks down existing workflows, spots automation opportunities and embeds AI agents to repetitive tasks.
Trace tends to show up where workflows get complex. The parts of work that involve reasoning, coordination, and follow ups instead of simple triggers.
If you are using Trace, we want to hear how. What kind of workflow is it handling for you? What problem finally felt manageable once Trace was in the mix?
Hi Gang! Excited to announce that @arthur_romanov and I got nominated for our local Forbes 30U30 award - could you kindly support us by visiting the link below and smashing that button (under profile pic) to make sure we get the top vote Huge thank you for all your help over the years
Reviewers mostly say Trace is strong at turning rough prompts into workable, editable workflows and making it clear which steps belong to AI versus people. Users repeatedly praise the hybrid, human-in-the-loop model, saying it fits real team processes better than rigid automation tools and helps non-engineers build useful flows quickly. Founder feedback from the makers of Jupitrr AI and STORI adds concrete use cases like social posting, reporting, and website scraping. Common gaps are broader integrations, better alerts for failed runs, stronger debugging, APIs/webhooks, onboarding, and more reporting and control.
The main thing for me is how Trace takes my vague ideas and actually turns them into an actionable workflow. The node-based setup with both AI and human assignment fits way better than old-school step tools.

What needs improvement
Honestly, I really want a better notification system. Missed too many stuck or failed runs that just sat there.
I experimented with Zapier and Make, but they usually expect you to get super detailed from the get-go or handle everything with bots. Trace’s auto-delegate and “break into subtasks” just matches how real teams split up work.
Trace gives immediate insight into what’s AI-driven and where manual work is required, so nothing falls through the cracks. That visibility has made process management and follow-up much more efficient.
What needs improvement
Would appreciate faster setup for repeated processes and broader connector support.
Notion, but transparency into workflow flow and stuck points isn’t as strong. Trace stood out by making blockages and automation both immediately clear.
I’ve tried n8n and Gumloop, but Trace lets us pivot between AI and manual work without friction or risk of losing progress, which is essential for compliance-heavy tasks that we do (I am in financial audit).
Wow, so cool! Trace looks like it could boost my productivity 10x! It perfectly fits our approach of building workflows first, then automating. But what's really mind-blowing is that it can generate workflows from a single prompt. I'm curious, are there any ready-made workflows to copy? I'd love to see how others are using Trace. @Trace
@nicoleastor thanks for checking the product out, Nicole. We have a template library for different categories (Marketing, Sales, Engineering) that you can use for a quick start. We will be expanding it based on more real-world use cases. Let us know if there are any templates from your company you would like us to make available to everyone.
@nicoleastor, we also plan to add workflow builder. Prompt often is not enough to build a high-quality workflow. Then users would be able to share their workflows globally!

@nicoleastor your support means a lot Nicole, thank you!
@aira_mongush Thanks Aira. We get this question often, it's a fair one!
Imagine you could assign a Jira ticket to an AI and treat it like another employee. You do the tasks that you do well; the rest goes to them. n8n, Zappier and others allow you to automate small tasks, but they won't automate real-life projects. You still need humans. Instead, we don't promise full automation, but help you find places where you can automate, actually automate those steps, the rest is done by you and your team.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks for a good question!
@aira_mongush to add to what @arthur_romanov mentioned, we also make it simple so non-technical people can use it

@aira_mongush here are my 5 cents - even though we are in the same vertical, Zapier and N8N struggle from one pivotal direction when it comes to AI. They have zero context about your company, your people, and what you are trying to build. So they cannot go beyond their value prop of automated workflows that you have to go and setup and maintain yourself
Thanks! Unlike n8n, Trace combines workflow automation with AI agents and a unified company index, so it understands context across tools and people instead of just moving data around.
Thanks a lot! Hope the team answered your question!

Cool product! I've been struggling to automate a specific workflow in my team's Slack channel. How does it handle edge cases or custom workflows that don't fit neatly into templates?
@mrrabbar Trace lets you customize templates or build workflows from scratch, so edge cases and unique processes can be handled without breaking the automation.
Wait, how did you even think to approach it that way? Most people would’ve stopped at step one, but you took it three layers deeper and actually made it work. Honestly, that’s not just smart, that’s genius-level execution.

@derek_armfield That is awesome to hear! Just wait and see what we are currently cooking!
@timcha_cherkasov@arthur_romanov@stepcha_cherkasov Looks really slick - Do we have a Linear Integration? Excited to check it out further - congrats on the already killer success - looking like you've got much more ahead!
@timcha_cherkasov@arthur_romanov@stepcha_cherkasov@andrei_i if you could keep me posted on that front - (Also curious if you'd have one for "Front") (no pun intended) - that would be great. Not something we need today but I'll have it on my shortlist if you've got the right integrations.
Congratulations on the launch! This has the potential to save so much time with automation. Does this work for all industries or is it more focused for now?
Hey Tim! It's really awesome. I really know that team workflows can be challenging and I'm sure AI (and automation) is gonna save a lot of energy there. Wish you all the best here!
@german_merlo1 Thanks so much! You are right, team workflows are where a lot of friction lives. You have to coordinate people, priorities, data, context, and so many other things, and now we add AI agents to the chaos as well. That's exactly the gap we are trying to close with Trace.

Exactly — we have templates and ready-made workflows you can use or customize. They’re a great way to see how others set things up.

@timzak Thanks! Right now it works across most knowledge and ops-heavy teams, but we’re focused on improving coverage for every type of workflow.

Appreciate it! Works across most teams, but some workflows click better in certain industries
Thanks! It’s pretty versatile, but some workflows shine more in knowledge-heavy teams.
