Zone - Block apps, track Screen time. No account needed

Most app blockers are cluttered with features you'll never use. We built Zone to be different: minimal, focused, and respectful of your privacy. Zone blocks distracting apps when you need to focus and tracks your time without gamification or guilt trips. No account creation, no data collection. We struggled with constant distractions and wanted a simple solution that works. Pay once, use forever. No upsells, no behavioral tracking. Just a tool that respects your time and privacy.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I'm Ankit, maker of Zone.

Like many of you, I kept falling into the "just checking Instagram real quick" trap that turned into 45-minute scrolling sessions. I tried other app blockers, but they all wanted my email and phone number before I could even start using them. That felt backwards.

So I built Zone - an app blocker that works the second you download it. No account creation, no data collection, no BS. It blocks distracting apps when you need to focus and tracks your screen time, all entirely on your device.

Most productivity apps ironically make you less productive with endless dashboards, premium upsells, and feature bloat. Zone does one thing well: help you focus without getting in your way.

I'm here all day to answer questions and would love to hear what apps steal most of your time. Thanks for checking us out! 🙌

Had a great time working with Ankit on building this.

I’ve been using Zone for the past two weeks during my deep work sessions, and it’s become part of my daily workflow. It’s intentionally simple, intuitive to use, and stays out of the way—which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to focus.

Excited about where this is heading. We’ll also be releasing a hardware companion in the coming weeks to make the experience even more seamless.

I use this app to block out social media activity during mornings and it has actually helped me become more mindful and reduced my screen time considerably. Great job Ankit and Jonah on this app!

@priyanka_sharma2603 Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your experience with Zone! It's incredibly rewarding to hear that it's making a real difference in your daily routine and helping you be more mindful with your screen time.

We really appreciate your support, and there's definitely more on the horizon as we continue to improve and expand Zone's capabilities. If you ever have feedback or feature suggestions, we'd love to hear from you.

Thanks again for trying Zone and for taking the time to share your thoughts!

The UI looks super clean! I'm curious though - why did you decide to build Zone without requiring accounts? Most apps seem obsessed with making you sign up before you can even breathe 😅

@sanskar_saxena Haha, right?! 😅 Honestly, we just wanted to solve a problem without creating new ones. Requiring an account to block Instagram felt ridiculous - like putting a gate in front of the solution. We built Zone the way we'd want to use it: download, block distracting apps, done. No barriers, no data collection, no friction. Sometimes the best feature is the one you don't have to deal with.

Looks cool but how do you manage to block websites ? Is it the same as the apps

@johan_george_eapen Great question! Right now Zone focuses specifically on blocking apps rather than websites. We wanted to nail one thing first before expanding. That said, we're definitely considering adding website blocking in future updates. Would that be useful for you? Always curious what features would actually help people vs just adding bloat.
