Is reading generated tests first the fastest way to catch hidden AI mistakes?

by•

Spent months reviewing AI-written code line by line like a pull request, and it was draining my speed.

Recently switched to checking the test cases first instead. It instantly shows what the AI thinks the logic is supposed to do especially when it completely misunderstands the business rules.

Anyone else checking tests before touching the actual implementation code?

i love this approach. tests can show you pretty quickly what the code is trying to do before you read everything.

I've strated looking at the expected results first too. It gives me a fast idea of where the code is going.

I'd also want to check if the tests are correct first. Otherwise you could end up trusting the wrong behavior.
