We weren't accepted into Y Combinator with our ProblemHunt

We weren't accepted into Y Combinator with our ProblemHunt. But I know a guy who got accepted this time. And he made 11 attempts. We'll try to do that too.

Same here. You're right - there's always next time.
Successful ProductHunt launch gives confidence, but apparently that's not enough for a YC application.
Are you going to apply again with the same idea? Pivot? Look for something new?
ProblemHunt
@avloss To be honest, I don't know yet. Perhaps, for repeated applications with the same product, YC looks at traction. If we show good growth, then I don't think we'll change the product. But if we don't achieve decent growth, we'll either have to pivot or create something else :)

@avloss @gostroverhov What kind of growth does YC usually expect in this case?
ProblemHunt
@avloss @tetianai Unfortunately, there is no precise information regarding revenue, but I know that many of those who were accepted had no revenue at all. And some didn't even have a product, just an idea :)

@gostroverhov wow, thank you for sharing! :)

Same here, what did the guy do differently that helped him get in on the 11th time?
8th time for us
ProblemHunt
@amadk Unfortunately, he doesn't know exactly what helped him, but according to him, it was most likely influenced by his physical presence in San Francisco at the time of the last application :)

@amadk @gostroverhov Well, in that case that's a good news.
Thanks for the encouragement! I didn't get into Y Combinator this time with ProblemHunt but hearing about your 11-attempt success honestly gives me fresh energy. I'm committed to iterating, improving and coming back stronger. Rejection isn't final, it's just fuel for the next attempt.
I really appreciate you sharing your journey. I didn't make it into YC this round but your persistence reminds me this is a long game. I'm taking the rejection as feedback, not failure. I'll keep refining ProblemHunt and pushing forward until it clicks.

Do they give any feedback on how to improve the product the way it will be accepted?
ProblemHunt
@busmark_w_nika Unfortunately, they state on their website that they do not provide feedback on the product or why exactly our application was rejected. That would have been great, though :)

@gostroverhov Oh, that's pity :/
Your message honestly helped. I didn't get into YC but hearing how many attempts it took you gives me hope. I'm taking the rejection as a lesson instead of a loss. I'll polish ProblemHunt more and come back stronger next round.
