Twimmage - Turn tweets into beautiful images you can share on Instagram

Twimmage quickly turns tweets into sharable images. Select a twitter user; choose a tweet; add either a creative background, custom color, or custom background; then share the image to Instagram/other social media. Or share directly from twitter on Android.

@sarahcpr, this is a great build! Definitely something I could see myself using (for snarky purposes, if nothing else lol). Love the simplicity and tongue-in-cheek humor behind this haha.

I'm like extremely disappointed this doesn't have a webapp though
Jeff Palm
@danirogerc It does, though it's unpolished and requires twitter login: https://tweettoimage.herokuapp.c...

looks good. the app should have sharing twitter thread.

@emrecoban Could you explain a little more? Do you mean like paginate a thread into an IG story?
Emre Coban
@jeff_palm like that. For example, I usually tap the first tweet of twitter threads, and then take a screenshot. all of tweets in the threads are seen by this means.
Jeff Palm
@emrecoban Thanks for clarifying. Not a huge ask and on the roadmap right now, but something we could support. I'll keep you updated.

@sarahcpr @jeff_palm Really simple and could be a great way to create quotes and testimonials quickly - love that we can save to camera roll. I agree with the comment in the thread about having a vertical option as this could be a good way to add to stories. Love that we can add a custom background. I found the desktop tool buggy I am afraid in terms of loading backgrounds and could not see how to add a custom background. iOS app worked fine - though I found some Twitter accounts did not render. Would love to see specific hex value as an option for a background colour and perhaps even being able to save specific backgrounds. Might be interesting to have some different and perhaps brush fonts for the Tweets given that Instagram is so visual a platform. Thanks for creating this.

@sarahcpr @krishnade Thanks for the great suggestions! Most of the changes are in progress--namely adding to stories, so stay tuned. What do you mean by "did not render" on iOS? Could you not see the user's timeline or couldn't see a particular tweet? Agreed about the desktop version, it's unsupported and doesn't have parity on features. Again, really great feedback, I appreciate it!

@jeff_palm You are welcome - great to hear about the updates you have planned. I hope you will consider enabling the story sized images to be downloaded too and not just shared to IG? In terms of not rendering - one of my Twitter accounts could be found but the Tweets did not load. I tried to access it a few times and having closed the app too. Hope this helps.
Jeff Palm
@krishnade Thanks. Story images would be downloadable too. Which account? Retweets and tweets with images by default aren't shown in the timeline. Maybe they should be or maybe it should be an option.
Jeff Palm
@krishnade I added an option to generate a square or portrait image -- the latter being for stories. An example of the option is here: https://imgur.com/a/6KNEinb The changes are in alpha, please join the testing group if you'd like to try on android: https://play.google.com/apps/int... -- For iOS is should be approved in a day or so, or if you give me your email I can add you the testing group

@jeff_palm If that were an option it would be great - if not perhaps just put a message in app to say that you can not create images from RT's In terms of the account it was Twitter/LSInsiders - I mainly RT there so perhaps that is why the account is not rendering?

I love the idea but I could never use the iOS app as it gets stucked for most people I tried to take tweets from. Do you know what is the issue? It seems there is no support for the app on the website. Thanks!
Jeff Palm
@noemiecoyot Thanks for the feedback! I followed up in a message...

Downloaded the app for iPhone. Has bugs that need to be worked out. Particularly with its inability to save customized work.

I am unable to load my own tweets. I can connect to other accounts via the app, but when I try to load my own, I get that little dial that shows it working, except it never connects. any ideas on how to fix? i’ve tried deleting and redownloading and no luck. thank you!

Hi, this is a great product. Have you made this open source?
