@juanbuis This is very very smart move, simply because they are doing this to learn and not to churn. It's all in the data:
first graph is downloads second graph is grossing…see the sexy purple top line it’s perfectly straight that is the US grossing for Tinder. The rest literally are the countries this is going live with I’ve plotted on appannie. I say this is in part a smart move, becuase every co's purpose is to make a profit and have product marekt fit period, also 75% of app developers don't have freakin analytics installed lolol and secondly if you are doing just fine in America but the whole world is online you should have a global focused product. Unelss you're stupid or well prejudice ( only want money from certain people with certain characteristics ) ( more growth, more revenue, more opportunities for market fit, less competiton is good for business. Tinder is trying to fix their churn I rarely see companies trying to I mostly see 99% of them avoiding the topic altogether. My hat is off to you guys!
@ignlg 😖 now we can struts them to one day sell all our swipe history, our bests pickup lines...Or why not sellin an AI to rate or advise on a first message that work best for a new match...

@valereonmobile I've noticed that some users don't have their location, which means they have Tinder Plus, not sure if Tinder Gold will have something similar.
@jmj Jeff, I wonder how did you choose the 4 markets to launch in? Does it mean you have to IN that country to have access to that feature? Must have created the account while in that country?
@davidnagy Our test markets vary by product feature. It's typically a blend of established and emerging markets to give us a better perspective when testing.

Won't this destroy the purpose?

@lasserafn might as well get a notif if someone likes you as well
Tinder just became a free-to-play, pay-to-win game, the obligatory 2-way match was great for the app to distinguish itself from old-style dating sites because it limits exposure and now that is gone.

@mgrisoli Nope, Tinder was tedious. This will align with its value proposition, faster and easier way to find new people. Both still need to swipe each other right. Plus it's a premium feature, so not everyone will have it.

@oktaykilinc This will align with its value proposition for potentially paying users, which might sound good for business, but free users can be driven away if they see that the game is rigged, while I think that is unlikely because most people will not see the difference, it can happen
@oktaykilinc@mgrisoli I agree with Marcelo, Tinder is not a free app anymore, despite being advertised as such. It's extremely hard nowadays to get a match unless you boost it with money.
