So I built this thing called Salad Bowl Game (playsaladbowl.com). It's basically the classic party game that some people call Fishbowl or Celebrity, but online so you don't need paper, pens, or any prep work.
The idea came from a pretty mundane place my friends and I kept wanting to play this game at gatherings but nobody ever wanted to be the one to prepare it. You know how it goes: someone has to tear up paper into little strips, everyone has to write down words (and there's always that one person who takes 10 minutes thinking of their words), then you need someone to be the timer/scorekeeper... by the time you actually start playing half the energy is gone.
So I just made a website that handles all that. You open it, everyone adds some words into a shared "bowl" (you can also use an AI word generator if you're feeling lazy), and then you play three rounds with the same words:
I ve spent the last few months living on caffeine and very little sleep trying to get this project off the ground. I m still working a 9-5, so this has basically been my life from 7 PM to 1-2 AM every single night.
I built DealVo (https://www.dealvo.ai or https://dealvo.ai/deals) because I was tired of trying to find local deals and only finding dead links or blogs from 2019. I just wanted a simple map where I could see what s actually happening in my neighborhood right now gym promos, happy hours, whatever.
Full disclosure: I have no users and have made no revenue. I m not here to sell you anything; I m just at the point where I ve looked at the code for so long that I can t tell if it s actually useful anymore. If you have a second to click around, I d love to know:
Does the map feel laggy on your phone/laptop?
Is the layout intuitive, or is it a mess?
To the other devs here what s the one feature that would actually make you use a map like this twice?
A month ago we launched a product called lilyguides.com, which is meant for students and workmates, and is more focused on team collaboration on group assignments and tasks. We later on noticed that users dwell more on the inbuilt AI detector and humanizer. This made us keep a more focus on the detector tools so that users can enjoy premium functionality and credible feedback. This leads me to the question, will we be losing focus on our core agenda by doing that or we should keep on listening to users and giving them what they like?
