This is a great idea, I can see much larger applications for this than just sex tape! Have you done penetration testing etc ?

Hey Product Hunt! Needless to say, super stoked that Rumuki got hunted. I hope it's painfully obvious what this is for: šŸ† šŸŽ„ Thought I might share some fun facts about Rumuki: * Rumuki comes from 'room key' spoken in Japanese english * Originally I thought it would take 3 months to build this, it's been almost 2 years * The tagline used to be 'a condom for your sex tapes' * The color scheme, logo and design for this app was ripped out of a previous concept I did for a voice chat app * The condom-over-camera idea came from a designer I met when I was travelling in Taipei * Most people don't notice that the camera is wrapped in a condom... :) Please take a look and appreciate any feedback or questions!

@frassmith Based on the amount of revenge porn where exes post videos out of spite and celebrity nudes leaking, etc this seems like it's solving a real world problem to me. People are gonna have sex and sometimes they are going to want to record things electronically but they also want protection from that being accessed by others (unless they are voyeur)

@frassmith How is this not a real world problem? Most people have sex. Some people like to share highly personal content with their partners. Sounds like a real world problem to me.

@frassmith Frankly, I can't think of a more real world problem for personal file permissions / unwanted file distribution. Certainly when compared to the number of other file security issues real people face (ie, none at all).

Sorry to be harsh, but cameras can be spied on. iOS regularly gets critical security updates. We're entering a future in which, through machine learning, it will be as easy to Google a face and get (audio)visual results, as it is to Google a name now. Making sensitive videos that need to be 'locked' like this, on a device that's connected to the internet, or regularly connects to the internet, is simply not a good idea. Regardless of the way in which the data is stored after recording.
