Hey Product Hunt! Thanks for hunting us, Nick! Can’t find past work in nested folders? Misplaced the white SVG version of your logo? Going back and forth with your client for the 15th time and lost track of whether _FINAL_FINAL_v14.png is the latest version? Wish you had a place where your files are neatly organized? Playbook is a visual cloud storage platform that’s built to fit your creative workflow. There’s a lot to explore, but here are some of the highlights: 🏞 Everything is visual. Browse PSDs, icons, and whole photoshoots at a glance 🕓 Versions/formats of files are grouped together to keep things neat and tidy 🏷 Images are automatically tagged — find things without file names 📦 Google Drive and Dropbox are integrated 💅 3 themes are available for publishing your work to a portfolio or client We’d love for you to join our early community. Use the link on Product Hunt to skip the waitlist, and we’ll set you up with a free Pro plan: - 4TB of storage (no joke—we don’t want you to ever worry about running out of space for your work) - A free 3D illustration kit by award-winning designer Leo Natsume We can’t wait to see what you create!

@alexzirbel this is awesome. Thank you. Can’t wait to start using it. Is the Free Pro Plan for lifetime? Or is it just for one year?
Kumar Mandlaywala
@alexzirbel is 4tb fee for life time or for year?
Kumar Mandlaywala
@alexzirbel At first it seemed like Notion. And it's very fast to load

As a very casual photographer who likes to share one-off galleries with friends and family, I've deleted my SmugMug account and now exclusively upload to Playbook, where the custom URLs and board themes make it really easy to just generate a link like https://www.playbook.com/s/cheng...! Everything is clean and also _so fast_.
Jessica Ko
@cheng2 Thanks Cheng! Your photos are stunning. So happy that you're part of our community.
Alex Zirbel
@cheng2 Love that NYC shoot :)

It's a bit of a shame, reading through the privacy policy it looks like they take an unnecessary amount of data... and use it for things like advertising (including third party). I'd love to use an app like this, but I'm not super keen on uploading my content to have it mined for data. Especially work-related content.
Alex Zirbel
@roderickjmusic hi Roderick, I didn't see this comment until now, but wanted to reply anyway for you and anyone else who's reading later. The data we collect is pretty standard stuff for SaaS tools, and you'll see similar terms for products like Figma, Slack, etc. We see ourselves as a data storage company, and so while we need to handle your data to make our product useful (ex: we index your files and automatically tag them to make them searchable), we will never sell your private data externally or "mine it" for use in advertising. Happy to answer any other questions — email support@playbook.com.

@playbook @alexzirbel One of the (several) stand outs in your privacy policy is this: "Advertising Partners. Through our Services, we may allow third party advertising partners to set Technologies and other tracking tools to collect information regarding your activities and your device (e.g., your IP address, cookie identifiers, page(s) visited, location, time of day). These advertising partners may use this information (and similar information collected from other websites) for purposes of delivering targeted advertisements to you when you visit third party services within their networks. This practice is commonly referred to as “interest-based advertising” or “personalized advertising.” If you prefer not to share your personal information with third party advertising partners, you may follow the instructions below." Unfortunately, as far as I could find (the privacy policy is dense, so I may have missed something) the "instructions below" just say to adjust settings on the users device. These methods rarely work as well as described. There are several references to using information you gather and giving it to third party advertisers. So I'm a little confused about your claim that you aren't using user data for advertising?
Alex Zirbel
@playbook @roderickjmusic thanks for pointing that out. Our privacy policy was broadly written, but we never intended to use user data for targeted advertising. We've removed that language. I appreciate you taking the team to read through this! We're a young company and it'll be an iterative process as we bring our written terms in line with our values. Your feedback here really helps.

@playbook @alexzirbel thanks for responding. It would be great to have a simpler version of your privacy policy - even reading through again I see references to interest based advertising, third party advertising and find it a little confusing. Calling out key points in simple terms (in a dedicated section before the full policy) can make a huge difference. Although obviously may not be a priority for you so early in your products life! Privacy is so important. It’s something that a lot of users really care about - especially when storing their files, and especially on a paid service. Im also curious if there is encryption used as well, I can’t seem to find anything about it on your website.

Wow this looks almost too good to be true - it feels like design teams I’ve worked with have been so disorganized in the past and now I realize they were just underserved and flying blind. I wish I could go back in time and use this! Going forward is the next best thing I suppose 🥲 How does the automatic tagging work? Do you use my data to train models?
Jessica Ko
@zan2434 Haha thanks Zain! We currently use Google Vision API for tagging. It's extremely accurate for photos. We'll soon be working on the self-training since a lot of our enterprise users want this!
Alex Zirbel
@zan2434 so glad to have you on board! To add to Jessica's answer, something we're super excited about is using ML to build a classification structure that's specific to your team. Imagine the exploratory tools you can use on Google Photos or Pinterest, but customized to the styles and attributes that you actually use in your day-to-day work :)
chrismccoy
got an invite a few weeks ago, looks great! i have about 200+ drawings i need to add from behance
Jessica Ko
@chrismccoy Thanks Chris! Glad it's working out! :)
chrismccoy
@jessica_ko3 are you going to be adding public sharing? currently cant share an image like dropbox has where you can make link public, requires login
Jessica Ko
@chrismccoy Yes we’re actively working in single asset sharing!
chrismccoy
@jessica_ko3 adding your own domain would be nice too, like dunked.com and adobe portfolio allows ;)

Early user here; this is a great product, simple, and beautifully designed. A designer's dream file and asset management system. Keeping assets organized and managing access to branded content has always been a huge pain, Playbook has made it easy for us to collaborate with our marketing/sales/agencies/performance marketing teams and be sure they are using the right assets. Orders of magnitude better than the shared GDrive links via email.
Jessica Ko
@diegozaks1 yay! So glad. Thank you.
Stephanie Zhao
Amazing product by an amaaazing team. Thanks for making gdrive so much better for photographers.
Jessica Ko
@stephanie_zhao Thanks 🙏 Stephanie!!
Greg Beck
