I've been watching this space for a while, and the honest problem is that most "local AI" tools solve the demo problem, not the daily use problem. You install Ollama. It's impressive for ten minutes. Then you realize you still need a chat UI, and an MCP config, and something to handle your cloud fallbacks, and now you have four apps doing one job together badly. Osaurus is the first thing I've seen that actually looks like infrastructure rather than a wrapper. The MCP server piece especially, because it means Cursor and Claude Desktop can both talk to the same local tools without duplicate configuration. The ⌘; chat is genuinely delightful. Watchers feel like the beginning of something much bigger than a feature. Still early. Rough edges exist. But the architecture is right, and the people building it are clearly thinking at the layer that matters. If you're an AI-native Mac developer, this deserves 20 minutes of your time. What are you running locally right now, and what's the thing you wish would just work?
