Hello, Product Hunt! ❤️ Have you ever considered that you might be a visual thinker❓ Imagine a world where your thoughts flow freely, where your notes don’t just sit in a linear line waiting to be forgotten. Welcome to NodeLand, the platform transforms your note-taking experience into a vibrant tapestry of interconnected ideas. Gone are the days of dull, static notes that feel more like a chore than a tool for creativity. With NodeLand, every word you jot down becomes a part of a dynamic mind map, allowing you to visualize your thoughts in a way that feels natural and intuitive, just like our brain works 🧠 Picture this: you’re studying for an exam, and instead of flipping through endless pages of notes, you simply ask your AI assistant to generate a comprehensive concept map on the topic. In seconds, you have a beautifully organized visual representation of everything you need to know. It’s like having a personal tutor who knows exactly how you learn best, guiding you through the maze of information. NodeLand isn’t just for students; it’s designed for anyone who craves organization and clarity. Whether you’re a solopreneur juggling multiple projects or a creative mind looking to brainstorm your next big idea, NodeLand gives you the tools to connect the dots and see the bigger picture in a landscape of thoughts. Embrace the freedom of visual thinking with NodeLand, where your notes come alive and your ideas flourish. It’s time to rethink how you take notes and unlock your full potential! 🤯

@dhruv_n1 Thanks Dhruv! Yes, based on the context of previous notes it can suggest new content

@kjosephabraham Thanks! NodeLand’s mission is to be the ultimate companion for visual thinkers. We already offer features like creating mind maps from documents (PDFs, TXTs, DOCs), AI, and from scratch. In the coming weeks, we’re excited to introduce two new features: “mind maps from YouTube videos” and “mind maps from webpages.”

💡 Bright idea
@gxara NodeLand sounds like a truly innovative tool for visual thinkers! I especially love how it transforms notes into a dynamic mind map. This feature seems perfect for brainstorming and project management. One suggestion that could take NodeLand even further is enhancing the collaboration features. Just imagine teams working together to build and refine these mind maps in real time; it could spark even more creativity and productivity! Wishing you the best of luck with this exciting launch!!
Gabriel Xará
@shadmannazim Thanks, Shadman! That’s a great suggestion. We plan to focus on this feature in the early months of 2025. While we already have near real-time synchronization, we’re aiming to make it even smoother.

@owenfar Thanks for your detailed question, Owen! I’m happy to clarify. Lifetime deal pricing: While our pricing strategy may be revised over time, we believe $50 is a great offer to generate traction while NodeLand is still gaining recognition. Security concerns: We use AES-256, a robust symmetric encryption algorithm, to secure the content of each document on our servers. This encrypted data is further protected by being stored in S3 buckets with an additional layer of AES-GCM encryption. For authentication, we use a passwordless process based on OAuth 2.0 and magic links, which we consider more secure than traditional password-based methods.

Hey @gxara! Big congrats on thi long-awaited day 🥳🥳 Are there limits to the types of resources I can include in NodeLand nodes? Can I embed YouTube videos?
Gabriel Xará
@kate_ramakaieva That’s a great question! You can include almost anything in NodeLand nodes, including YouTube videos! The only current limitation is webpage embeddings, but we’re already working on adding support for that in the future.

I'm intrigued by being able to upload a doc and have AI turn it into a mindmap, but it's not possible to do that without paying. To be honest, the way you've done pricing feels a bit like a money grab. Does that feature actually work? If so, why not give a free trial so users can experience your core value. I'm generally in favor of charging for things that are valuable, but in this case I can't build conviction that your product is valuable without seeing it.
Gabriel Xará
@rajiv_ayyangar Hi, Rajiv. Yes, the feature works. As a bootstrapped project, offering a freemium model is tricky because we have to be mindful of the potential traffic a launch like this could generate. We’re carefully weighing our options to make sure we can deliver a sustainable and valuable service long-term. While we don’t currently offer a free trial for this feature, here’s a demonstration video so you can see how it works:
Gabriel Xará
@rajiv_ayyangar Thanks to your and other users feedback we have added a 3-day trial on the monthly plan.

It looks great. It seems that everyone likes mind maps. My product also supports AI to generate mind maps. I am curious to ask, which library did you use to generate the mind map?
Gabriel Xará
@memfree thanks! NodeLand is built on Cytoscape, the leading solution for graph theory visualization and analysis.
Maria Polesh
Congratulations on the launch! @gxara I’m curious, will creating presentations based on mind mapping be possible?
Gabriel Xará
@maria_polesh Hi, Maria! Thanks for the question. Yes, it’s already possible! NodeLand features a ‘Presentation Mode’ that’s perfect for navigating and presenting to students, customers, or anyone else.
Francesco
Hello @gxara, great tool! It happens way too often that after taking some notes, they end up in a notion folder that I never read again. Keep at it 💪
Gabriel Xará
@neolocus We’ve all been there! This visual approach is our way of rethinking how we manage knowledge.
Aleksandr Lavrinenko
Wow! I always struggle with a Miro mind maps, because they don't let you to put content inside the node, and it gets overwhelmed . This is a game changer!
Gabriel Xará
@aleksanadr_lavrinenko Miro is excellent for collaborative brainstorming, and Notion is great for note-taking. NodeLand fits right in between, offering a note-taking solution specifically designed for visual thinkers. ;)
Tony Han
Honestly, I'm not someone who creates these mind maps enough, but I do appreciate them when I get to learn things visually by looking like a mind map. This is pretty cool that it can turn PDFs into mind maps - really helps connecting all the ideas together. Congrats on the launch @gxara and team!
Gabriel Xará
@tonyhanded Thanks, Tony! Let us know in case you give it a try
Dmitry Bergelson
Gabriel, bets luck with your launch! BTW, who owns IP rights for generated maps? Can your user sell these maps?
Gabriel Xará
@dmitry_bergelson Thanks a lot, Dmitry! Our goal is to create a strong community of curious minds. People can opt-in to keep documents private or share them with others. We do not offer any kind of mechanism for users to sell maps and this is not in our plans

Hey @gxara, I liked the concept of NodeLand, but while trying it out I couldn't get to an aha moment (in the free plan). A few things that would help improve the experience - - A 7-14 days free trial would really help users experience the entire product. Maybe you could have only a yearly plan if the user opts in for a free trial. - Users already have notes in a lot of different places. Instead of starting from scratch, it would be easy if you allowed importing/syncing documents from various note apps like Apple Notes, Notion, Google Keep, etc. This would enable them to get to the core USP of linking files much faster! - Also, the website and the app are not responsive in Arc browser. You may want to look into that! Hope this helps! All the best for NodeLand! 👍
Gabriel Xará
@k13h Hi, Krishna! Thank you for your valuable suggestions! • Free Trial: We’re already considering reintroducing a free trial, and your suggestion about offering it alongside a yearly plan will definitely be taken into account. • Importing/Syncing Notes: You’re right — We’ll explore how to integrate with these tools and evaluate the best approach. • Responsiveness in Arc Browser: Thanks for the heads-up! We haven’t tested on the Arc browser yet, but I’ll make sure to prioritize fixing any issues as soon as possible. Thanks again for your feedback—really appreciate it!

Nodeland is really great tool for brainstorming! All the best for the launch. ✨
Gabriel Xará
@kellypoly Thanks!! Happy that you liked it
Kyrylo Silin
Hey Gabriel, I'm wondering how it handles very large or complex mind maps. Is there a way to collapse or expand certain branches? Have you considered integrating with other popular note-taking apps for easy migration? Congrats on the launch!
Gabriel Xará
@kyrylosilin Thanks for your suggestions! Collapse and expand functionality is already in our backlog. As for integration with other tools, our first priority is to offer more formats for export and import.
Giuseppe Della Corte
I am a big fan of visual note-taking, graphs and mind maps. Nice product @gxara

@gdc Thanks, Giuseppe! Glad that you liked it
Mitia
It looks great. Is it possible for users to customize their mind maps?
Gabriel Xará
@mitia Thanks! For sure! They are totally customizable. You can check some examples at https://nodeland.io/maps?tab=exa...
Ditarth Desai
Congrats on launching NodeLand! Exciting new way to organize ideas.
Gabriel Xará
@ditarth_wbs Exactly! Knowledge is built through the association of ideas. We should tap deeper into our potential for visual thinking.
Rizky Ge
Congrats on the launch! It’s really good news for document readers.
Rohan Chaubey
Launching soon!
Congrats @gxara! I wonder how NodeLand handle large amounts of information?
Gabriel Xará
@rohanrecommends Thank you, Rohan!! You can scale your mind maps to include hundreds or even thousands of nodes, all without any loss in performance.
