Jitter Beta - A simple animation tool on the web

Jitter is like Figma for motion design: it makes it easy to create animations for your videos, websites or apps, all in the browser.

Hello Hunters! 👋 We're @etienn & @robi, and we're making Jitter. We are both passionate about motion graphics, and we basically want to make animation simple, fast, and more accessible. We previously launched a simple text animator and the feedback has been amazing! 🙏 We learned that people want more customization, but in a simple and lightweight package (After Effects is still too cumbersome for many designers). So here is our first take on a more advanced animation tool, with a couple of radical choices (no keyframes, built-in text animation support…). Please bear in mind this is a beta version, so everything might not work as expected yet, but we're really excited to see what you can create with Jitter already! :) Looking forward to discussing in the comments: we'd love to hear your feedback and your thoughts on our tool!

@etienn @robi The product seems amazing!
Daryll Wong
@etienn @robi Looks like a well-built product!
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@etienn @daryllman Thanks Daryll! It's still in early stage, and there are many things we need to improve, but we think it provides a lot of value already (especially in terms of speed and simplicity). Would love to hear your feedback!

@etienn @emmanuelcharon Thanks Emmanuel! We've had great feedback so far, and yet there are so many things we want to improve! Now back to work ^^

@etienn @robi Is this like a web version of Principle? How is this unique from something like SVGator? And lastly, are you exporting objects as SVG from Figma (or other design tools) to bring into Jitter, or are you making them in Jitter first? Thanks!

Jitter is the next go-to tool for visual creation. As a priviledged early beta user I made an animation logo for my last product hunt launch, this would have never been possible without Jitter in such a short period of time.
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@chnsydney Thanks a lot for your support Sydney! We loved your first creation, can't wait to see the next ones!
Bogdan Ionita
Cool product, nice positioning as the Figma of animations :D
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@bogdan_ionita Ha ha! With a great mentor comes great responsibilities, let's work hard to make it as great as Figma :)
Diana Zaitseva
It seems to be good ) definitely i want to try it.
Eugenia Liu-Ti-Fu
@diana_zaitceva интерфейс как у всех редакторов - очень удобно.
Gloria Qiao
This is awesome! Exactly what my team needs now.
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@sleegal Awesome Gloria! Would love to know the specific needs of your team – for now we're at level 1 of collaboration (you can share files with the URL), but we want to make it great for working together too
Gloria Qiao
@robi We're about to launch so we've been trying to create videos and animations to showcase our product properly to the users.
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@sleegal Sounds great, well please reach out to us after you play a bit more with the product: we'd love to understand how we can improve it for you :)
Robin Choy
Wow - just tried the tool and it makes motion design so simple. Seems like a very obvious idea (« why don’t we have this already? » ) so it will boil down to execution which seems flawless so far. What’s next on the roadmap?
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@robin_choy Thanks Robin! Here are a couple of exciting things right ahead: - Animated components that you can use in 1 click and customize (like a company logo, a “get it on the App Store” button or more advanced titles / subtitles effects) - Cascading animations - Simple 3D models (phones, computers…) so you can make a demo of your app / website in situ - Real-time collaboration - and much more… But most importantly: how could we improve Jitter for you / your team, so that we can prioritize the right things? Thanks!
Benjamin Netter
Reminds me of the early days on the web with Flash animations everywhere. 🥲 I miss those days!
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@benjaminnetter Those days are coming back 🤩
Samandar
@benjaminnetter @robi No, actually MVP philosophy does not allow it to come back. These days founders are more efficiency oriented than ever before.
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@benjaminnetter @samandarco Interesting point you have here Samandar! We realize there is still a huge need to create animations for media content (it's even increasing). Curious to see how this evolves for the interface design part
Samandar
@benjaminnetter @robi I think you have to start a movement. Start from freelancers. Because you removed friction from their work-flow.
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@benjaminnetter @samandarco Good call, indeed we're planning to start helping individual designers, and then gradually become more and more important in a team workflow. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
David Duarte
Nice product, very easy to use. I'm looking forward to see how this talented team will make it evolve, I'm sure it will be the figma for motion design :)
Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
@deltaevo Thanks David! Yes, the ambition is no lower than this :)

Happy user of SnackThis.co, and participated in Jitter Beta. Great tool for both professional designers and non-professionals like myself. Moreover, very approachable team available to assist on emails. Good luck @robi and team with the launch and future enhancements!!
