This is awesome ... I don't have a Tesla (yet) but will be following along with Tesla FOMO!

Here is newsletter edition from the website dated May 23rd for those who are keen to see how it looks http://tesla.inside.com/post/5-23

As an inside reader, I'm excited about the more targeted vertical approach. It's interesting though that you chose a specific company rather than the category. Do you expect to have more company-specific newsletters? @jason

@dtemple I think any company that has over X employees, Y market cap and/or Z customer base will qualify for a newsletter 1-2 a week (or perhaps even daily). I created a blog called TUAW.com 10 years ago (AOL shut it down... With millions of users!!!), so I know how these hyper-niche products can perform. They are a pain in the neck to run because you have to constantly hire and replace smart people, and you have to be smarter than the general population, but smart people recruit smarter readers, so it's just hard -- not impossible.

Nice take. Do we see a new trend here. Uber anyone?

Yesterday, I listened to a16z talking about the art of the regulatory hack. They mentioned Elon Musk being great at hacking regulation. @jason Is it the case that all of Elon's companies have benefited from some form of regulatory change? Here is a quote from the episode: "It's not just a way to enter a market, but a way to create a market ... much like Elon Musk did with Tesla: using the very system that drops lemons to make lemonade." https://www.audiosear.ch/a/152f7...

@paul_s_kemp @jason sounds like Steve Case's book of The Third Wave. Found that via James Altucher's podcast interview with Steve.

This looks cool! Question...what if someone wanted to raise money to buy a MS and in turn show it off or rent it to others in a means to not only pay for the vehicle but also spread the Tesla love? Thoughts on how one would go about that? (shameless search for creative ideas....my wife said no on the $100k purchase :) )

Badly needed to replace my google alerts with something more curated 😉. I challenge you guys to post things that I don't already know about. Can't wait!

Might be interesting to put a bi-yearly infographic out about Tesla to spread around the web to increase subscribers to the email. Since someone is going to be all over Tesla happenings might even give them an opportunity to zoom out every once and a while after spending weeks at a time right in the thick of it. Looking forward to getting my first email. Another thing, personally going around on a scooter in the swarming traffic of Hanoi, Vietnam, autonomous road drones should be developed there. If 11 million people are able to move around the dense, variable conditioned roads of this city, mostly without incident. Whatever program that is developed there would find navigating the structured and predicatble flows in other parts of the world a piece of cake. Same as India I guess from what I've seen in movies.... So that's all to say I hope articles that come in this email surface related stories :)
