I've added the extension to my Firefox browser. Great work! Is there anything else I need to know if I'm using it on Firefox, because the name clearly suggests it's primarily for Chrome.
@harsh_gelda Glad you liked it! :D
Yes, on firefox right now the limitation is that it opens on a new tab instead on the top of the active tab, since firefox doesn't support it. But I am trying to create a workaround for it and will mostly solve it by the next update, in some way.
@harsh_gelda It's actually a good feedback, my idea was that people are acquainted by MacOs spotlight which is (cmd + space) and this would make it easier to remember. But what I'll do is to make you create custom shortcuts and you can go wild with your imagination!
I have tried virtually every tab manager extension (there are hundreds) in the store and have to say this is easily one of the best Iβve come across. Really awesome work @hardikjain29
Always wanted this one. Thanks a lot. Especially for making it for Firefox as well.
Can you make shortcuts customizable? or is it open-source so that i contribute that?
@alaouisolaimani Glad you like it! π And for the custom shortcuts, I have already added it in the roadmap and should be available in the next update! π
Love it! Works well on FireFox although it's kinda annoying that it opens in a new tab instead of a shortcut. When I close the new tab though, the floating Hare search bar remains on top of whatever tab I have open...
Could you make the background of the new tab dark? It's blinding at night! That's my only issue.
@anna_0x Thanks Anna, Glad you are liking it. π
I have taken this feedback seriously and updated the extension to open it in the same tab and hence it won't open it in a new tab. Hence the behaviour is now resolved to the expected one. Do try the updated version and let me know if I can improve the experience further! :D
Hey Product hunt π,
I am really excited about this launch since it being the first one for me! ππΎ
This is an extension of your productivity of using browser.
When we have many tabs open and are confused about which window's tab is it already open, we go ahead and create a new tab with the exact same content. This makes your browsing experience too cluttered and less productive.
Hare makes it faster for you to jump on any tab, you have open, by doing a fuzzy search on factors like URL, title, etc. When you are all done with your tabs, you can have a nice interface for them to close it at once based on your fuzzy search.
Features:
β Fuzzy search on your tabs. Title or URL of the website.
β Action to close multiple tabs at once while doing a fuzzy search.
β Use Keyboard shortcuts to navigate quickly through the features.
For any bugs, queries, feature request or any feedback, you are always welcome to mail me at 29hdkjain@gmail.com
Roadmap:
1) Add history and bookmarks search.
2) Action which lets you search the same way you would do on the browser address bar so you never have to click on the address bar all your browsing experience through hare!
And many more....
Also, design credit to @kshitij_choudhary π
Congrats @hardikjain29 on the launch. π
I've been constantly using the beta version on my chrome and shortcuts are muscle memory now!
You solved my tabs problems! And as always @kshitij_choudhary makes some incredible designs! :D
@alaouisolaimani@harsh_gelda@anna_0x β I have updated the firefox version to behave same as of the video shown. It will now open up in the same tab on top and not open in another tab. Thanks for all the feedback. Let me know if you are facing any other issues! π
