Google just announced YouTube VR last week.
This makes me think about how Google Earth might evolve, to become (or perhaps power) Second Life-like experiences with real-world locations and data.
@megaroeny Daydream is powered by a smartphone (currently only compatible with the Google Pixel), which does not have enough computing or rendering power or positional tracking to be able to run something this heavy and this interactive.

@rajington@megaroeny I doubt it- Valve really owns that platform, even though HTC manufactures the hardware product.

The evolution of Google Earth both freaks me out and makes me more excited at the same time !
Seriously this is SO COOL - we played with Google Earth VR yesterday in our mixed reality studio at VRScout and live streamed it on Facebook! Check it out if you want to see our tour around the world, guided by requests from the audience: https://www.facebook.com/vrscout...

I don't get it. Is it an app, do you watch via browser, how does this work?
Report
@brianwreaves You can get it on Steam if you own a HTC Vive, at the moment this is the only way.
