It feels like there s hundreds of applications using ChatGPT launched daily.. Which ones truly stood out to you or seemed different from the vast majority?
I'm seeing more products launch on Product Hunt that require payment to actually use any features. No free trial, no freemium tier, just a download that leads straight to a paywall.
Part of me thinks this makes sense. If your product has real value, why give it away? People on Product Hunt understand they're looking at premium tools. Plus offering free access can attract users who will never pay anyway.
But I also see the argument for temporary free access during launch. Product Hunt users want to actually try what they're upvoting. How can they give meaningful feedback or become advocates if they hit a paywall immediately?
I know that some of you might be hesitant to start working on your idea, because you have no technical knowledge. I was the same a few months ago, so I'd be happy to answer any questions about this. Open to questions and feedback about what I launched as well! Main vision of TheWorkSage is to connect everyone looking to change/grow their career, with the people who are offering help to achieve this. You can check out the launch here - https://www.producthunt.com/post...
I've been using Claude Code heavily for the past few months while building my startup (12k+ line Python codebase), and it's genuinely changed the way I develop. It navigates large codebases with context that I haven't seen from any other tool: understanding file relationships, catching upstream/downstream effects of changes, and reasoning about architecture-level decisions, not just autocompleting lines.
But what really caught my attention is the business side. Anthropic is forecasting cash-flow positive by 2027, while OpenAI is projected to burn through $115B+ through 2029. Claude Code alone reportedly crossed $1B in annualized revenue. Their API revenue is estimated at double OpenAI's. And they're doing all of this with significantly lower burn.
As a measure of the impact of vibe coding and the need to focus on positioning, narrative, and marketing and distribution, I noticed that that 610 products were submitted to the Product Hunt leaderboard today, but only 16 were featured which is less than 3%.
The previous high was just over 500 products in December.
