Nobody warns you that launching is the easy part.

I test products for a living. Bugs, edge cases, broken flows. I catch it all before it ships. So I always assumed the hard part of a startup was the build.

Then I started watching what happens after launch, and it completely changed my mind.

Getting a product to work is a checklist. Getting people to care about it is not. There's no QA process for that. No test case that tells you your marketing is broken. You just... try things, and most of them don't work.

I'm not a founder, and I'm not here to sell anything. I work at Nexobe doing QA, content, and design, and I've become genuinely obsessed with understanding this gap between "we built it" and "people are using it."

Will personal brands matter more than CVs in the next 5 years?

Everywhere I look, I see founders and operators investing heavily in their personal brand:

  • LinkedIn posts every day

  • X threads

  • Podcasts, YouTube, newsletters and substacks too

Meanwhile, their CV or portfolio gets updated maybe once a year.

I m wondering if we re heading into a world where your online signal (what you say, who engages with you, what you ship publicly) will matter more than any formal CV or resume.

I ported my iOS AI dashcam to Android and the Neural Engine gap is brutal — here are the numbers

I'm Naoufel, a solo dev from Oujda, Morocco. I built AYNI Cam an

iPhone app that turns the phone into an AI dashcam: real-time road

detection, incident recording, all on-device, no cloud, no account.

I'm porting it to Android now, and the platform gap is bigger than I

Is anyone else noticing traffic shift from Google to AI answers?

Curious if other founders/makers here are seeing this: a chunk of my own search behavior has quietly moved from typing something into Google to just asking ChatGPT or Perplexity directly, and getting an answer with no click to any website.

For anyone building a product with organic/SEO as a growth channel, has this shown up in your numbers yet? Or is it too early to tell?

Not trying to sell anything, genuinely curious how other builders here are thinking about it (if at all).

Solo-built a free app to 1,000+ downloads — what worked?

Hey everyone

I'm a solo developer and just crossed 1,000+ downloads on an app I built entirely on my own (Qibla Compass & Prayer Streak a free Qibla direction, prayer times, and Quran reader app for Muslims). No ad spend, no team, just building and shipping features based on what I'd want myself.

Now I'm at the "figure out growth" stage, and curious what's genuinely worked for other solo/indie makers here, especially for niche, non-SaaS products:

- Did ASO (App Store Optimization) actually move your numbers, or was it mostly organic community sharing?

What's one small takeaway (from building, marketing, etc.) that turned into a big insight?

For me, it was a very simple, yet really insightful thing: enhance what's already working.

We're running a community forum, and our "Changelog" and "Ask the Community" categories performed really well. But after we featured them on the forum's homepage and applied some changes to improve usability, the engagement boosted significantly.

Why are there so few women in founder roles or in tech overall?

I still can't help but notice that there are not many female tech founders.

However, I ve observed that in some regions, such as India, more women are actively involved in tech.

Similarly, in the Nordic countries of Europe, women seem to have greater exposure to occupations that were traditionally perceived as "masculine."

Instagram's Edits vs. TikTok's CapCut?

The short video format originated primarily on TikTok as "TikToks." Of course, it was then picked up by Instagram ("Reels"), YouTube ("Shorts"), and later other platforms began to embrace this trend of short, vertical videos (LinkedIn, X).

For these purposes, TikTok created a mobile video editing app and later a desktop version, CapCut. (2019)
And guess what...
