Is launching on Product Hunt still worth it in 2026? 👀

by•

Feels like launching products today is harder than ever.

There’s more competition, shorter attention spans, AI products dropping every hour, and getting real traction feels increasingly unpredictable even with a good product.

So I’m curious:

For people who launched recently (or are preparing to), what actually moved the needle for you?

Was it community, timing, Twitter/X, waitlists, PH featuring, paid ads, founder audience or just pure luck?

Would love to hear honest experiences, especially from indie makers and small teams building right now.

To be honest, as an end user I'm looking now at launches that don't have the "AI" word in the launch tagline. I've had too much of it lately - so answering your question, I guess it's still worth it, but it's not gonna be easy indeed :)

I’ve seen PH be great for feedback and credibility, but not always for customers, mainly because the competition is too much.

Here is what we got on our Product Hunt's launch day for @ProdShort :

  • 746 visits

  • 32 sign-ups

  • 12 people created a short

From my perspective, it is definitely worth it, especially for people who do not have a budget to validate their idea. They can bring multiple people and see if they are interested in what they are building.

I believe it is something you should do early, because if you already have a lot of clients and, I do not think it is worth it for you. If you want to make sure you will be in the top, it definitely requires a lot of work, mainly interacting with people on Producthunt and building a little audience there. When you do that, you end up connecting with people who are using Producthunt even on other platforms. When you launch something and post about it, you end up having some support from your network.
