Do you actually trust the comments on a product page?
i can never tell what is a genuine from a real user versus someone just hyping up their friend's project. Some discussion threads feel authentic, where people ask tough questions, offer genuine feedback, and point out potential issues. Other times, the whole section is just a wall of generic praise like "congrats on the launch" and "this looks incredible" without any real substance.
It makes it hard to gauge whether a tool is actually solid or if people are just being polite. I find myself ignoring most of the surface-level compliments and actively searching for the few comments that bring up actual use cases, flaws, or comparisons to existing tools.
How do you evaluate the feedback on a launch page? Do the comments ever actually change your mind about giving a product a shot, or do you ignore them entirely and just test things out yourself?

i still prefer testing the product myself before making a decision. Comments can convince me to click, but my own experience usually decides whether I stick around.
@saman_baloch What kind of comment actually makes you try a product? For me, it’s usually someone describing a specific problem they had and how the product handled it.
@saman_baloch @elsie_ramsey A wall of congratulations doesn’t really help me evaluate anything. One honest comment explaining a limitation can be more valuable than twenty people saying the product looks great.
If everyone's saying "looks amazing," how o you know who actually used it?
I started sorting by most discussed instead of newest. It surfaces the threads where people actually push back a bit.
Have you ever changed your mind after reading a really honest comment? I almost skipped a tool once until someone broke down the pricing flaw.
Comments help me decide what to test, but i still wanna try it myself.
If the replies feel like friends hyping each other up, I basically ignore the whole section.
