About

How can we combine data, computers, and physics to slingshot the development of new battery technology? That is the central question that my research helps to answer. A firm believer in open-source software and data in scientific research, I lead the development of the Battery Interface Ontology (BattINFO) for semantic battery data and the physics-based Battery Modelling Toolbox (BattMo).

How do you find reliable overseas manufacturing partners as a small e-commerce brand?

I've spent time on the sourcing side of e-commerce (based in Hangzhou, working with electronics manufacturers), and I'm curious how founders on the buying side actually vet new suppliers before committing.

A few things I'd love to hear from this community:

  • What due diligence do you do before trusting a new factory/supplier you've never worked with?

  • Have you ever gotten burned by a supplier, and what red flags did you miss in hindsight?

  • Do you prefer working through platforms (Alibaba, trade shows) or building direct relationships?

I've seen this from the supplier side, so I'm interested in the buyer's perspective what actually builds trust for you when sourcing internationally?

how do you want to share a skill?

Whenever I search for a skill.MD file for a relevant skill there are tons of Github repositories that I find and none of them actually become useful to me because most of them have AI slop and actual hardcoded instruction which is necessary is somewhere buried in line 12 or 13 and the plug-in comes with a bunch of more files which I can swear I have never read.
What is the best way to share a skill that can be plugged to agentic workflows? And is anybody monetising this already?
With most of the skills that I find online, there is no true sense of ownership and most of them lack authenticity!!
