@suhail_idrees1Β Does it work with Free version on DaVinci Resolve?
FireCut AI
@imtiyazmohammedΒ Yes it does! FireCut supports both DaVinci Resolve Free and DaVinci Resolve Studio :)

@suhail_idrees1Β Congrats on the launch! What free options do you offer?
I can't find anything on the website, at least to try. We are currently using capcut. :)

@tetiana_hryshmanovskaΒ DaVinci Resolve has a Free version which is really great for getting started. On top of that we offer a free trial of FireCut (which is 14 days) to take it for a spin - it's fully featured so you can try every tool we offer! :) Thank you for stopping by and supporting our launch π
@suhail_idrees1Β nice work! π

@imikerussellΒ Thank you legend, really appreciate your support as always! π«Ά
minimalist phone: creating folders
It has finally become a platform for short videos. But one thing I am still missing is drag-and-drop video on the X and Y axes. In CapCut, I adjust the video's position in the preview box. In DaVinci Resolve, I need to adjust it in the Transform panel. That's the reason why I haven't switched to DaVinci Resolve from CapCut completely :D

@busmark_w_nikaΒ It's getting there... slowly but surely! What I love about the DaVinci team is that they're building fast and are responsive to feedback. And best of all, their plugins/scripts platform has allowed us to automate a lot of tasks for users. We wouldn't be here without their openness to work with the wider developer community!
@sepharoth Huge win for Resolve users, especially since most AI editing tools force you into their own ecosystem instead of meeting you where you already work. Automating the repetitive stuff (zoom cuts, chapter detection, podcast cleanup) is exactly the layer that slows editors down the most.
Curious, which feature surprised you by saving people the most time once they started using it?
FireCut AI
@sepharothΒ @fernando_scharnickΒ You got it! That's EXACTLY our mission - bring the automation to your existing workflow, not force you to change how you work.
The unexpected time-saver is definitely our Chapter detection feature [π link]. It finds you the main topics being spoken about in a video so you can put timestamps in your video description, as well as create a nice title animation that plays at the beginning of each chapter. When you're editing a multi-hour video, the time saved on watching the whole thing manually really stacks up!
Thanks for your support Fernando!!
Congratulations on the launch!!

Amazing work! Can FireCut for DaVinci Resolve handle multi-camera edits too, or just single-track footage?
FireCut AI
@abod_rehmanΒ Thank you!!
Good question - FireCut can indeed do multi-camera edits in DaVinci Resolve. Here's a short demo of this feature: FireCut Multi-track auto editing

Finally can pass on tedious jobs with Adobe to an AI tool! How accurate does firecut manage to remove duplicates and divide chapters?
FireCut AI
@cruise_chenΒ Hi Cruise, thanks for stopping by and supporting us! Both of those features have had about 2 years or iteration and improvement "in the field" with users so they generally are big time savers.
For Repetition removal, we do a text similarity search to find the duplicate takes but (because video editors using Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve are generally tech savvy) we've actually exposed the detection settings for the user to fine-tune if needed. We've also recently added an "auto-accept last takes" button which deleted all repetitions except the last, because that's generally going to be the best one.
For Chapter detection, we've used a pipeline that involves an LLM and we've been fine-tuning this for a long time to get a good outcome! Something unexpected: we had intended this feature to be used for creating title animation slides (for every chapter) once you've already cut down your video close to a final version, BUT many users also use it at the start of their editing process just to help them understand what's in the video without needing to watch the whole thing. One thing we've recently also added is a setting to nudge the LLM towards a target number of chapters (for situations where you might have a very long video, but don't want 15 chapters for your YouTube edit).
Hope that explains a bit about the inner workings :)
Insanely exciting tool π₯ Congrats ππ»

@pasha_tseluykoΒ Thank you Pavel, really appreciate your support! To be honest we owe it to our beta users more than anything - pretty much every feature is inspired by a request from a beta user :)
I've always hated doing editing for my videos, and I was waiting for a while for AI to catch up when it comes to editing. Firecut was one of the first tools on the market. I've seen it evolve, and now that it has Resolve?? My editor of choice anyways. This is such a huge win!

@polyinnovatorΒ Thanks for your support, Dustin! It was great meeting you at VidSummit this year! π

Been cutting a weekly podcast in Premiere killing silences is my least favorite bit. Auto cut + captions + chapter detect sounds nice. Curious how it handles messy timelines and repeated takes. If itβs stable, could save me a late night or two.

@alexcloudstarΒ Alex, tell me about it π That's exactly where the idea came from. We sat down with our video editors (for Ali's YouTube channel) and talked through the biggest time sinks, and then tackled them one-by-one.
You're not alone on the podcasts - many of our users use FireCut for exactly that (screenshot from our reviews page)

Wow, your product is genuinely impressive β huge congratulations on the launch!
My team is also building AI video creation tools, and your approach is truly inspiring. The way youβve integrated directly into a mature software ecosystem is incredibly smooth and elegant. Great work!
FireCut AI
@jackyliuΒ Appreciate your feedback and the kind words! Really impressed by how you've taken on the challenge of AI video creation. We've thought of our mission as really focusing on just the editing step (no content generation, filming, or rendering) and making it as automated as possible, so plugging into a mature software like Premiere or Resolve made sense!
Thank you for supporting our launch π
