Request for product: This but for salads in my home
Daylen Sawchuk
@rrhoover @kyunbit Yes, Sally by Chowbotics (http://www.chowbotics.com/sally/), but it's for restaurants only.

@kyunbit @askdaylen ahh, nice find! Thanks.

@rrhoover @kyunbit @askdaylen it’s for whoever has spare money to pay for Sally and the minimum monthly supply of ingredients per month from Chowbotics. The seller won’t ask questions if you come up with the money for the machine and the minimum supplies every month. I doubt a single person can eat anything near the minimum amount of salads that the seller will ask you to pay. They seem to be copying the Nespresso Business Model for their Pro-line, but they seem to have forgotten that they are neither Nestle nor L'Oreal.

@abetancort What ingredients do you need to purchase from them? The video showed 22 canisters that need to be filled with fresh seasonal products which I assume you need to prep unless you need to buy them from them? This caught my eye, "Makes 40 salads before refilling". Sounds like you still need to keep an eye on it during peak periods.

@ekovarski everything is supplied by the vendor (check their page - when they talk about the chef) they seem to want to control the whole experience and make a recurring cash flow and benefit out it. For just one person having 20/30 salads a day can be overwhelming to say the least.

Failing to call this Rube Goldberger is a major let down.

It’s comforting to see that the robots know the cheese goes on top of the beef. We’re teaching them well.
Harry Hawk
@andygcook I feel cheese is best on the bottom.. so I have to eat the burger upside down.. (the burger not me)
Jacqueline von Tesmar
This process sure looks beautiful. Is it saving time? Or is it just the novelty of the robot made item?
Harry Hawk
@jacqvon I would guess that the novelty is precession.. a great tasting burger by default, and with the App you can fine tune sauce, salt, cheese, Etc. Once locked-in you should get a nearly identical burger everytime. It's very difficult to get a human to cook burgers in a highly consistent manner. I have sold more than 100k of burgers.. that's my data point.
Geoffrey Wiseman
I get the novelty, and when the bots are good enough it’s not hard to imagine robots replacing chefs for niche restaurants with carefully selected menus ... but I feel like the latest round of robot restaurants are mostly just showing the tech isn’t quite strong enough yet.
Sure Photoshop
wow great oooo eeeh!

How does it actually taste? is it good?

Las ideas creativas sirven en todos los ámbitos

Pros:

Es necesario intentar

Cons:

Desanimarse

Good idea but still not there in price, design and technology, it still does need a person to serve it and get the payment. It will be there when it occupies the space of two/three coke vending machines and takes payment in cash, touch less credit card and Apple Pay and a menu with fries and drinks is lower than the equivalent on a McDonald´s. Low paying, low skilled jobs in the serving industry are going the way of most manufacturing jobs went since the late eighties within a decade or a decade and half at the most. Like it or not. A pity, anyways.
