Getting the first person to actually pay feels very different from getting someone to try the product
Before that you re mostly guessing
Then someone pays and suddenly you have something real to learn from
You start looking at the product differently

Sometimes you build something thinking you know exactly what people need
Then real users start using it
They ask for something you never planned

Getting someone to try your product is one thing
Getting them to come back is different
They might sign up
Try a few features

When you start building something it s easy to say yes to everything
More meetings
More tools
More features
For me it usually starts when an idea stops feeling like just an idea
You start talking to real people
Someone actually wants to use it
Maybe someone even pays for it

I get a lot of ideas
Some look great when you first think about them
Then you start talking to people and realize they don t really need it
I think this is one of the hardest parts of building

I used to think you should wait until everything feels ready
But with SaaS there is always something left to fix
One more feature
One more small bug
I have had this problem a few times
You get an idea from one user
Then someone else asks for something similar
And suddenly it feels like a feature you should build
Sometimes I feel like when you work on something every day you stop seeing the actual problems
You keep adding things
Changing things
Checking numbers
I thought getting people to try a new product would be the hard part
But then you start talking to those users and find out they use the product in ways you didn t expect
A small piece of feedback can sometimes change the whole roadmap
Maybe it changes a feature
