Fantastic update, guys! It's great to finally work with billing data here. Looking forward to integrating with Stripe already. Congrats @nick_franklin and team. Thanks for saving a whole lot of time not having to build one ourselves 😄

@nick_franklin @jiwonbest We are glad you like this update and are looking forward to help you get setup with your Stripe data.
@Bernardamus
Love this App and love their blog full of great content and advice about SaaS metrics. Our App is not yet integrated with Stripe, otherwise we would be definitely using ChartMogul. What are the highlights regarding the new features ?
Nick Franklin
@bernardamus Just added a link to our blog with detailed info about what's included in this release! - https://blog.chartmogul.com/intr...
@Bernardamus
@nick_franklin I'll try the new Custom data source! Thanks

This looks amazing, excited to try out these new features… focusing on data pipeline transparency makes a tonne of sense, and not having to maintain google spreadsheets for manual customers is going to be amazing! Congrats @nick_franklin and team 👏

@nick_franklin @eggertxyz Thank you for your response. We are really excited to be able to offer an alternative to the Google Sheets way of managing manual data.

2020 and still no Segment integrations. Sorry guys, but this feels more like a concept rebranding than an actual product evolution...
Nick Franklin
@paulgarreth5 Sorry, we plan to add Segment, both for enrichment (into ChartMogul) and output (export data out of ChartMogul to Segment). But this is a lot more than rebranding - there's a tonne of engineering, new data pipeline, new type fo flexible custom data source that will become the standard technology we use across all integrations. Sorry it's not what you've been waiting for but what's released today will benefit all ChartMogul users sooner or later. (and adding an extra vote for Segment asap)

Congrats to the ChartMogul team. I've been using your product for the last 3 months and I just love it. Easy setup, clear insight. Everything I need from a product like yours. However I have trouble finding how to use this new data pipeline. If I understood correctly, it is meant to enrich customer data from different sources and aggregate them in CM right ? In order to be able to graph a ARPU per usage of X feature for example (with custom API)? I almost only see payment provider in the integration modal and wonder what would be the point of adding Stripe + ChargeBee for example. Anyway, looking forward seeing how this evolved. Congrats 👏👏👏
Nick Franklin
@pierre_dwf The new data pipeline is primarily for ingesting customer and subscription billing data, not yet the enrichment data. The new pipeline's features can be seen if you go to your ChartMogul account and navigate to Data platform > Home > Add a data source > Add a new data source with the API/CSV icon. This is the frontend user experience for the new data pipeline. Eventually all integrations like Stripe, Recurly, etc. will work on top of this new data pipeline. For now the immediate focus is on weening our users off Google Sheets and "Manual customers" to use the new Custom data source as this has been poor experience for some years. Help center docs are coming soon also. > In order to be able to graph a ARPU per usage of X feature for example (with custom API)? This has been possible since we released our enrichment API and segmentation features back in 2015 (you can Enrich customer data with the API, UI, Google Sheets, Zapier, etc) - https://help.chartmogul.com/hc/e... https://help.chartmogul.com/hc/e... (though that's not so much related to this release) :-)

@nick_franklin Ok thanks the clarification. Just out of curiosity, what kind of data do people used to add manualy that were not already on Stripe for example?
Nick Franklin
@pierre_dwf Many customers don't use Stripe or any dedicated subscription billing system, and those that do very often still have some customers that for whatever reason are living outside of those systems.
Pierre de Wulf
@nick_franklin Oh ok I see, now I understand everything :) Thank you for your time.

I'd be lost without chartmogul. I remember when I used to try to calculate all of this stuff manually. Such a time intensive, error-prone exercise. Now, my sales, CS, and exec team can access and analyze critical numbers in real time. Game changer.
Ingmar Zahorsky
@zisserzappy Thanks a lot Rachel. Your five year anniversary as a customer is coming up soon. :) Our team really appreciates you and the many other fine folks at Honey.

We really like ChartMogul, but the price became to prohibitive for us. Counting the price from revenue rather than number of transactions just feels abusive.
Nick Franklin
@jancurn Sorry about that. We previously had this issue where some customers had hundreds of thousands of tiny customers, and some customers just had a few hundred big customers, but the businesses were the same size. Aligning with revenue (roughly 0.25% of MRR) meant we could avoid needing to continually do custom pricing + it aligns with our company mission of helping our customers grow using their revenue data...we want to help our customers grow revenue (not necessarily users) and then we benefit from that also if we're successful in helping them achieve that. Of course at scale once you hit $10M ARR we do custom pricing.

@eggertxyz Great work ChartMogul team!
