Congratulations on the launch! I have been using Butterdocs since December to write my first novel, and I couldn't be happier. The writing experience is incredibly enjoyable, making it a pleasure to create. The board feature is a valuable tool for plotting and structuring my story. Additionally, the numerous helpful features such as saving paragraphs as alternatives, AI Research, stash, and comment tags have been incredibly useful.
Although I don't utilize the notes feature as much as I'd like to, I hope to see more options for organizing notes in the future, such as tags, subnotes, or folders, as well as the ability to add images. I also miss the "Outline" feature from Arc Studio, which is a fantastic way to expand on story blocks. Some features are tucked away in the command bar, which I appreciate and use frequently, but it can sometimes lead to me not being aware of all the available features.
I've tried several writing apps, but Butterdocs is by far the best because it allows me to focus on what matters most to me: the words and the story. I look forward to seeing how Butterdocs continues to develop in the future.
@galimotion thanks! We're going to keep improving notes, but currently you can add images. Drag the image onto the note and release it once you see the yellow line in the note. You can also use the note linking to organize your notes and create hierarchies. So for instance you could create a note called "Characters" and pin it to the top of your notes list. Then in that "Characters" note you can list each of the characters as a link to their own note. I walk through this example in this video at around the 1:45 mark https://www.butterdocs.com/plus?...

I absolutely do not regret getting this application for my everyday writing schedule. I am actually an early user of Butter Docs and I have loved every single detail and services it provides. I love the planning tabs, the alternate drafting options, the writing tools, sharing capabilities.
But, the one thing that I really adored is the SMOOTH user interface. The whole thing looks vibrant and beautiful and captivates you to just start your writing fresh.
It's worth it.

AND IT IS A BILLION TIMES BETTER THAN GOOGLE DOC'S!!!
Everything is better with butter. 😁 This product is a collaborative writing software that helps you run a more productive writing process. It has features such as notes, outlining board, focus mode, and editing tools. It is easy to set up and use, and provides you with a writing environment that you enjoy. It is a great software for serious writers and teams who want to avoid the chaos of multiple writing tools and files. 💪
Been trying the beta for a while and it's been smooth. 🧈 Congrats on the launch!

I've been loving ButterDocs for long-form content production as well as planning my Linkedin content (so more like short-form content). What's working for me is having the outline on my left side and the notes to my right as I start drafting content. And having the option to Stash or save discarded lines from drafts for reuse later is my close second-favorite feature. Can't wait to see how the team grows ButterDocs — so much potential right there! 👏
@masooma_memon glad to hear it's been helping! Having the outline and notes in view while writing is my favorite feature as well. Any time I have to switch apps or tabs to reference something is an opportunity for me to get distracted and end up in an internet wormhole.

@micahcratty yess! And distractions remind me: I like the in-built time for writing too. I don't need to set 20-min Pomodoro timers on my phone now haha

Love this fresh approach to the writing software industry, which has largely remained unchanged for far too long! Especially love the fact that ButterDocs includes familiar coding practices, such as branching and merging, into collaborative writing. Brilliant idea!
One feature I eagerly anticipate is the inclusion of a support tool—whether powered by AI or managed by a community role—that reviews your outline before you start writing. Receiving feedback at this early stage of the writing process is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness of your ideas.
Congratulations on launching ButterDocs!
