What's the best way to stream shows to a television?
Apple TV? Roku? Google Chromecast? Amazon Fire stick? Just get a Smart TV?Steve Sohcotwww.stevesohcot.com · Asked

I'd definitely say Chromecast for its simplicity. There's no UI so you only interact with platforms you're already familiar with like Youtube/Netflix. My grandpa was able to set it up without any problems.
Living with several roommates, it's really easy to take turns showing each other cool videos we've seen.

It all depends on where your shows are and what your favorite type of control is. I like a control that doesn't get lost and is always with me, my phone. So the chromecast does a great job of that, but if I get a call it's tough to pause the video. I really love being able to creat a playlist on YouTube shows.

I love the Amazon Fire TV stick. I own this and an Apple TV and I use the Fire TV stick far more often. I prefer the UI / UX and the way apps operate on Amazon (namely, Netflix). Also, it's so easy to "broadcast" my Spotify playlists to my Fire TV stick when I'm not in the mood for TV.
