It depends on what type of writing you're doing but what I found is that you need a tool that allows you to actually "write" and not have to worry about formatting. My personal favorite is Typora because you can write in Markdown and the app has features such as distraction free mode, remove spell-check, real-time markdown syntax formatting(so you don't see those ugly things such as ###, [blah blah](link here). Give it a try and enjoy 😊

The app costs $12.99 for Windows; however, it has a wonderful interface for writing journal entries. In addition, the app is cross-platform (Android, Mac, web, etc.). An iOS app version will be coming out soon.
