What are your favourite tools for community managers?

I run online and offline communities, and.invariably I hit the challenges of where to communicate, how to organise events, visualising the network, sharing knowledge and more. I find slack useful but limited for communities Vs teams. What I see as the main difference, is that people in communities often a) don't know one another, b) don't always have shared work to do together.

I think what you are looking for is a framework to manage your communities. You should check this product to help you do that. I have not adopted this framework myself, but i am planning to so. I am seeing a lot good things about this framework and it looks really promising. Check it out.

I have used it extensively in Andrew Chen's talk platform: http://talk.andrewchen.co/ and also for Write The Docs forum at http://forum.writethedocs.org/. I think it meets most of the goals of a well structured, well monitored, and custom discussion forum. I like it.

I am totally in love with Canva! For me it's the best graphic app I ever work with!

Simple enough to quickly create pics for Facebook, twitter posts, featured images for my blog and emails. The powerful and full of tools enough to create even an infographic! Guys, you're so awesome, you help me to level up my skills as a content, SMM and PR manager. I don't need to wait for designer. I can create an illustration in 5 min! I work with Canva like 1 year or even more. With free version, but I want to try paid too. Thank you, guys!

The platform is technically complex to build but for the end users, it's so simple with every feature that's most wanted to build a community. It's better than facebook, linked-in or any other platform that tries their hand at being a community driven platform. And it's far from perfect and yet it's better than all others. Imagine how awesome it will be once the team develops all the features they've been working on.

  9. The platform design toolkit is an open source collection of canvases and workbook which help people recognise the interactions, stakeholders, technology needs and more, which sit behind platforms.
