Vanta - Your automated security and compliance expert

Thank you, Vanta friend and customer, @hnshah for hunting us today! Hi Product Hunt! It’s surreal posting today, as I remember being in awe of Product Hunt’s launch, six-seven years ago: the first community for makers, where you got to see in-progress work! (As someone who likes to make things, this was a dream.) And then, five years ago, Product Hunting at Dropbox: what a way to get distribution for our new Dropbox Paper mobile app. I’m posting with a different hat now: Vanta’s CEO and cofounder. Vanta’s been in the market for 2.5 years, but we’ve never launched; we wanted to make sure we got security and compliance right before bringing out the megaphones; we work in an important space that affects the data and lives of real people. Today, I’m excited to bring out the megaphones! And again, thanks Hiten for your lent megaphone!) Vanta’s the industry leader, 1,000+ customers strong, and we’ve learned from each customer: their likes and dislikes, configurations, and preferences. The Vanta we’re launching today is better because of them – thank you hugely to our customers. I’m also delighted to announce that Vanta’s raised a $50 million Series A fundraising round, led by Andrew Reed at Sequoia. I co-founded Vanta in 2017 because I saw that security was often just a buzzword for companies, rather than core to how they build products. Vanta restores trust in internet businesses by giving startups an easy-to-use set of tools to improve and prove their security. We pioneered the automated security and compliance space, and we’ve already helped over 1,000 companies with SOC 2 prep. We started by automating SOC 2, the most commonly-accepted framework for demonstrating security. Today, we’re announcing support for ISO 27001 and HIPAA, our two most-requested certifications. With ISO 27001 and HIPAA support, Vanta customers can demonstrate their security posture to customers outside the U.S. and customers that store electronic health information. These are available today in Beta and will be broadly available in the coming months. Finally, I’m posting as a maker, but Vanta is by no means just me; there are 70 Vanta’ns today who have worked to bring the product and service to where it is today, and none of this would be possible without them. Alright, I'll admit that I do work at Vanta. I'll actually scream it from the rooftops! I want to post on her because, until Vanta, I had never worked for an organization where I could directly see the ROI the tool has. Once a customer has completed their SOC2, ISO 27001 certification, or HIPAA mapping; we're able to have candid conversations to learn more about the value of Vanta. It's been so cool to see how we've been able to partner with our customers to ensure their own customers stick around and that they're closing new deals now that they've locked in their security. On top of that, customers can then able to continue to leverage the tool to ensure their security stays in tip-top shape. :)

We just signed up for Vanta recently. We aren't looking to get a SOC2 audit yet, but we want to be audit-ready and more generally just provably and proactively improve our security. So far it has been great. Templates for common security policies have been particularly helpful as we do have customers ask us for these and we were missing some. The customer support team is also great, turning around answers to questions very quickly. Congrats @christinacaci on the raise and the product hunt launch! Looking forward to seeing all the product improvements coming in the future.

Convictional is a very happy Vanta customer! We sailed through our SOC2 Type 2 audit, thanks to Vanta. That's led to millions of dollars in contract value closed in the past few months. I also love sharing their automated security reports with enterprise prospects. :)

We've been using Vanta since it's very early days. The team has been a fantastic resource as we prepared for and completed our SOC2 audit. We used the product while RenoFi was very early stage to get a great foundation in place, which made the SOC2 process painless. Great product and team! Using Vanta, the only thing that can stop you from getting SOC2 is your own laziness. Everything is well explained, there are templates for all the policies, you will get automatic alerts when something needs attention... I don't see how we would have prepared to be audit ready without Vanta!

Congrats on the launch! I can't imagine going through a SOC 2 audit without Vanta! At Daily, we used it to help guide our work in preparation for our SOC 2 audit and continue to use it to ensure our policies and processes are still working as designed.

We use Vanta to get our SOC2 Type 2 report - it has streamlined the process and got us compliant a lot faster than we could imagine! We are now SOC2 Type II compliant which unlocked a lot of enterprise deals for us.
