Hey Product Hunt! We're excited to launch SuperNormal today, a platform that helps you create async video updates to share with your team. Easily record your update and our AI will suggest captions, mentions, and hashtags so you can get back to work faster. We've been building this since January and we've been super fortunate to have great alpha testers with us. They've found that starting and ending their day with a quick video update has helped team culture and the feeling of connection. All feedback is welcome and we're happy to connect with every new team on SuperNormal as we build out the platform. Feel free to dm @fabrahamlincoln and @ctreseler with any thoughts or suggestions!

This looks like an interesting launch, congrats. What sets you apart from products like Loom?
Ryan Hoover
@samrye_enspiral good question. Loom is focused on showing something via screenshare. I think there's room for something like Supernormal for async team communication.
Colin Treseler
@samrye_enspiral @rrhoover great question! SuperNormal brings a couple of improvements that are focused on improving team communication. 1. Better consumption with summaries. SuperNormal AI extracts the most interesting sentences and suggests them as the caption for your post. Your teammates can quickly scan the new updates to see which are relevant to them. Teammates don't let teammates watch long updates that are not relevant 😃 2. Mentions detection. Mentioning a teammate in your video will populate with the suggested name in the mentions 3. We're team centric and will continue to offer more features that Loom and others have when it comes to recording and sharing.

@ctreseler thanks for the reply! Interesting on the summaries, will look forward to having a play! I was thinking about doing some studies on Coursera, and how useful it is to be able to jump around the video based on the text transcription. I'll have to check it out!

More meetings should be async. Nice work @ctreseler and team. 😄
Colin Treseler
@rrhoover Thanks Ryan, we agree 💯 ! When we added in ai-powered captions, we found that the consumption experience became so much easier. Text is easier to browse and allows you to pick the updates to watch that are relevant, especially on larger teams.

We've been an early tester of SuperNormal and it's been a great tool to stay in touch while respecting team members timezones and workflows. SuperNormal takes things I've previously hacked together myself (eg. async video updates) and makes it supersmooth + adds AI magic.

@robertlenne Thanks for the love

Congrats on the launch! This definitely solves a problem that many seem to have nowadays.

@kaishin Having a highly distributed team we face this ourselves as well (US, Stockholm, Australia) so we know the pain 😁

Congrats on the launch!

Does the auto transcripts support other languages, like Español?
Fabian Perez
@pddro Not quite yet, but this is on our radar! Thanks for bringing it up
Colin Treseler
@pddro They will! We've added it to our roadmap and will ping when they are updated. Our automatic summarization AI should work as well.

@ctreseler Oh mama! Please do Ping me! I have a team ready to start sending vid standups (and my co founder and I ready to get rid of most standup meetings)
Colin Treseler
@pddro will do!

This looks incredible. I love how easy it is to keep my team updated and I think I would use the text summaries of the video updates all the time. I think this is going to be really impactful.
