When should Founders actually have “the awkward conversation”? 😅
Every startup starts with excitement, ideas, and a shared vision.
Almost none start with: “So… what happens if this goes really well? Or really wrong?” 👀
I’ve been thinking a lot about this while building a “startup prenup” tool for founders.
Not the legal side - the human side.
The weird reality is:
• Founders will spend weeks building MVPs
• But delay a 20-minute conversation about equity
• Or roles
• Or decision-making
Until it becomes… a much harder conversation later 😬
So I’m curious:
👉 When do you think Founders should have this conversation?
• Day 1?
• After MVP?
• After first revenue?
• Never (just vibe it out?)
Also—if you’ve been through this:
What’s one thing you wish you had clarified earlier?
(Trying to learn from real experiences here, not just theory 🙌)
