I must appreciate quality factor of Springrole.
that's a pretty big up.
Obviously for higher level positions this makes a lot of sense, but I really like this for less standard roles that are harder to categorize and search within existing categories / semantics. Existing recruiting platforms don't seem to handle these roles really well and you end up with a lot of meaningless resumes.
Thanks. Yes we see more and more jobs posted that we were not expecting at first but it makes sense (community managers, Growth Hackers, Executive Assistant...)
As a community manager, I have to say I really support the use of referrals in this world. There are a ton of different styles and a wide range of skill levels within them. You really need to hear from someone who knows the candidate's work to know anything about them.
100% agree. We are always thinking about new features that will let people who refer to do more than just an endorsement but to also have the ability to share more about the person they just referred.
Hadn't thought directly of Community Manager, but it's a really good example of what I was trying to get at.
I must ask you, where do you FIND all of these new products? You must be the most active submitter on ProductHunt. Do you read the entire high-tech blogosphere daily? ;)
Unfortunately there is no cure for my NPRS (New Product Release Syndrome). I've had it for almost 15 years. My feedreader and bookmarks are insane. I was self-treating but discovered Product Hunt. It was at that moment that I just accepted my condition and embraced it.
Which feeds do you follow?

Getting paid to help get your friends a job is a win-win. It will be interesting after sometime to analyze the referrals you successfully placed and compare their tenure/quality vs industry average time at job. My hunch is that your referrals stick around longer since they were brought in by the best potential headhunter...a friend that knows them best.
good point. We will definitely share everything we learn from all this data. It is going to be very interesting. We already noticed the time from posting to hire being below other channels.

Great idea! I can definitely see myself using this down the road. Looks neat as well, personally I'd like it to be slightly more material-y but I'll take it! Will be interesting to see (get feedback on) how the hires actually perform in the long run, but I think it shouldn't be a problem. All in all a great service that solves a real problem! :)

Every internship and job in my life were made possible thanks to referrals, that's just how it works nowadays imo. Translating this into an online experience is very interesting and I think this is easily scalable across the world. Signing up now :)
