Stolen is one of the funnest games/social apps/Twitter-thing I've experienced in a while. Give yourself an hour when you first log in -- it's addicting 😅 Was great seeing the product develop over the last few weeks, congrats in the launch @Blader and the @GetStolen team!
Saniul
@nivo0o0 Thanks Niv! Really glad to finally get some more people on Stolen 😊
Kevin
This is surprisingly fun and a good use of Twitter, wonder if there will be a FB version sometime.

@nivo0o0 @blader @GetStolen This is super addictive, and I've been waiting to hop on board this train since I saw the PH team members playing with it over the last few weeks :) Setup is easy, and even though I'm not much into games generally, this is one I'm fairly sure will eat up a lot of my free time for the next month. Would love to see a Twitter desktop integration so I can play it there as well.

@blader Would love an invite code. :-)

@nivo0o0 happen to have a code? Interested in giving this a spin but can't currently get in :(

Reminds me of FFS (Friends for sale) on facebook me & my friends used to play way back when I was in college.
Renz Bernardo
@ohitsmerenz by the way, where did the website go? I could've sworn I visited that. @nivo0o0
Alex
@ohitsmerenz @blader was the founder of FFS 😄. This is his stab at a modern, mobile version of it.
Renz Bernardo
@alexyoungkwon @ohitsmerenz really? Didnt know that.
Rodney Rumford
@ohitsmerenz @blader I actually reviewed FFS on my Facereviews blog back in the earliest days of Platform

@blader Looking forward to it. :)

@blader @akshaybharwani Great to hear. Looking forward to it.

@blader @akshaybharwani I'm curious, but I'll have to wait for the Android version to try it out. It sounds fun, and I wonder if it draws on the fascination that me as a kid and a bunch of friends had on collecting soccer trading 'cards' [in our case they were stickers] that then were used to build a neat and complete booklet [hence the 'sticker feature'].

@akshaybharwani If you need a beta tester on the Android side...
João Antunes
@jayinpa @akshaybharwani @blader Well, it looks like we'll get that Android version soon enough then http://techcrunch.com/2016/02/23...

I've been on Stolen for a short while now. It's addictive and fun and kind of pointless. I'm very curious what the real replay value will be once it opens up to more users...
Jen Granito Ruffner
@chrismessina - Initially I thought the same exact thing, especially when this type of game was launched on another social platform, Tagged.com, years ago. It's surprisingly pretty successful (Note I worked at Tagged years before this game was launched so I have no insider info, this is based purely on watching the products placement & engagement on my own account). Considering that Stolen's CEO, Siqi Chen, has Zynga in his experience portfolio, I think they've got a decent shot at making something out of this; probably not used by mainstream techies -- but there are markets for this that are willing to pay real cash for virtual coin.

Wondering about replayability once all the twitter-celebs are valued in the millions (never thought I'd type that sentence). Fun game tho!
Saniul
@yoavanaki there's an element of price decay, so somebody who is currently valued in the millions will eventually decay to a more reasonable amount.
Saniul
@yoavanaki I find it most fun to find a "target", usually a friend whose behavior I can predict, and start messing with them for a bit 😁 Say, I know they want to keep somebody in their collection, so I will try and steal them from that friend as often as possible😈
Renz Bernardo
@saniul @yoavanaki i would suggest adding rewards. Incentivize a la swarm/foursquare.
Jen Granito Ruffner
@ohitsmerenz @yoavanaki Wonder if there are any implications from them making a profit off of celebrities likeness.....
Jen Granito Ruffner
@saniul @yoavanaki Also noteworthy, games free online poker, also need to invest in building sinks into the games economy. For example, Zynga poker has a hand helper that shows you the % likelihood you'll win a hand given publicly available card data. You only pay a small fee if you win the hand. This helps to reduce inflation. Smartly, Stolen! already had a few sinks like comments and nicknames. They could start making the nickname prices dynamic based on the cost of the person being nicknamed; high value users require more sinked coin to create a nickname. This wouldn't directly make the cost of celebrities go down, but indirectly it reduces the wallet of people who invest in them.

Agree with almost everyone here. Very addictive. The physical mechanics of the UI are actually part of the addiction. The last time I was this addicted to a new app, was Secret. I just hope (and believe) that the Stolen team can manage their product direction better, and still keep it interesting when it's no longer "new"

Anyway to get a code to try this?

@saniul @wwr228 L3Z17C is used up
Vladimir Novosselov
@saniul @wwr228 would love to try too
Matt Schlicht
Very addictive.

Why wouldn't this be built as a website instead of a native app? You could reach so many more people. Curious what made the native approach your choice.
Abe Anwar
@blader Thanks for specifying the reasons. Do you still foresee having a website as well as the app?
Preet
@blader @inorganik agreed. I think the app interface for the very quick interactions is sharp
